Purifying light. The skill that bypasses cyrodiil damage reduction.

I understand how this skill works, and it's uses, but what I did not know is that the tooltip value is what it actually hits for when the skill is fully charged. I've been hit a few times now for well over 15k purifying lights from the same person who has clearly figured out how to Max out the damage very quickly, but I'm not exactly sure why this skill not only bypasses resistances, but also cyrodiil's 50% reduction in damage. Not implying that templars need a nerf, but I'm not sure how I can avoid these situations when I'm doing fine in a fight taking fairly minimal damage, then I drop dead with an 18k purifying light. Am I wrong in thinking it's maybe a little broken?

The way the skill works is it stores damage done to the opponent from all sources then releases it. If it didn't ignore armor etc it would be taking a double battle spirit nerf due to the damage used to "store" dmg already being mitigated then when released it would be mitigated again. Keep in mind that tooltip number is the hardest it can EVER hit as it cannot crit over that cap.

Then is there possibly something wrong with how quickly this skill is charging, because this is small scale 1v1, 1v2 scenarios in which I basically just drop dead seemingly out of nowhere. I understand not wanting the skill to be essentially mitigated twice, but then does it really need to hit for 15k for 1 silly skill? It just seems like too much if I'm not absolutely full health im basically put in execute range if not killed immediately. I should also add that 2 can be placed on your character at once, so I have a death recap showing small damage numbers then a 15k and an 18k purifying light from 2 different players. This essentially makes it impossible to 1v2 2 templars healing each other doing chip damage and then you die from over 30k damage. Seems silly to me

You can purge it off, it's pretty easy to do with efficient purge.
The Ugly Orcling - EP Orc Stam Sorc
    Thorlarex Sah'Kriid - EP Sorcerer
    Râgê - EP Dragonknight
    Serriah Sah'Kriid - DC Nightblade

Little tough on a stam character. I understand what you're saying. And to be fair I was still a little salty when I made the post, but Imy only just learning about the potential damage today. And I've never had an issue in the past so I'm not about to redo my whole setup to fit more magicka to combat 1 skill. I still think any skill that hits like that should be looked at. I could see if the skill had a damage cap of say 8-10k then it not being mitigated twice, but when a skill, not an ultimate, a skill is nearing 20,000 damage it should have something to slow it down

It takes what 6 seconds to pop it? 15000/6 = 2500 dps. Doesn't seem too extreme when Jabs can do 10k+ by itself. In some situations it's a DPS loss too sooo....
