I think this style is better with that thing than it would be without it. Without it, it would be way too generic.
In general I think the new style, despite the fact I like them separately, are getting a bit out oh hand. Nobody looks like regular fighters or soldiers anymore.

But I agree, these strange wings are a bit too exaggerated, also the ones from the Trinimac style (even worse).

Plus the skills fixes, balances etc are disappointing.
I'm thinking the only cool thing is the new area and camels....and the ONE new trial.

I don't know, it seems the same to me. In a single-player TES, you miss out on the story of the Thieves Guild (and related activities and rewards) if you don't join them.
