Vote-Kick

Can we get a majority vote-kick implemented please?

I don't care about myself (very few people are going to kick the tank before the dungeon begins!), but it really irks me when someone is kicked for being too low-level before the dungeon even starts. Not that "low-level" means much when everyone is scaled up to VR16, but leaving the kick decision up to one randomly assigned player isn't really a great design decision, IMHO.

Sure, some people need to be kicked (people who are AFK for ages, for example), but can we at least have a majority vote on it?

Some people queue for a *long* time, just to be kicked back to the start of the queue by someone that doesn't even give them a chance. That's kinda rough.

i hope eso removes the ability to "kick" people from groups.
if you dont like the 1 person [or anyone in the group] badly enough to want them out of the group, then make a new group and dont add them to the new group.
that makes it much easier to Not offend people and make people feel like CRAP cause they got booted from the group.

no one likes being KICKED out of groups.

    or better yet,
we should be allowed to purchase NPC hirelings from the crown shop.

    NPC Healer hireling
    NPC Tank hireling
    NPC Dps hireling

i would love to be able to purchase them for group and summon them inside the cave by myself and be free of all the dramma and kicking and people hating on eachother for weak DPS or not doing everything EXACTLY like the 1 person wants.
no, just a comfortable dungeon run with me and my purchased hirelings :)
i would love it and would make it so i was smiling when i finished the cave instead of angry and upset from the dramma that people allways seem to bring to the dungeons.

Naw that is BS. It takes forever to get a group together you shouldn't have to suffer because one guy wants to troll.

we don't need any more 'casual protection'.

it happens. we have all been kicked. I've been kicked out of scaled groups without warning, at the start, on twinked alts with capped cp.

its not something to worry about. just get back into group finder.

we really don't need to protect people from everything so that they can feel all fluffy constantly.

people need to be a bit thick skinned in games as well as in life.

Yeah you might be battle leveled but but you're not 'know how to play your class' leveled.

If the group finder let you pick between ranks, it would be different.

I just will continue to never use it.

    M M O? No?

There's no drama but come on, do you really LIKE being unable to complete in an HOUR because 1-3 people keep wiping/dying to stupid/not rezzing the newbie tank who keeps dying etc?

I would just say avoid the group finder.

This is a further step away from common sense.

    there are 2 problems.

First, they hide the information from players (without addons). Then, as the players are in the dark, they don't do good dps because no idea what 'good' is. The fix for that, is to provide the bleeding information, not provide npcs.

this is one reason that there are so many terribad players is becuase ZOS creates it by hiding information.

Second problem is that they are making a solo player RPG story game, online. As a result, they attract a load of casual ES gamers who play for the storyline and also try a bit of optional, occasional group play. of course these players are going to be largely awful in a group. they are playing at the skill level of the solo RPG game. they can get away with bad builds and bad gear because the game is easy enough for that.

There is nothing wrong with these players, however, I don't wish to group with them because I want my dungeon runs to be 15-20 mins not 90 mins.

    Solution?

    1 provide a combat log.

2 SImply give 2 separate group-finder queues. 1 for casual ES player and the other for MMO player.

also, on re the first point, what computer gamer dislikes numbers?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

instead of kicking, let them get a gold star for showing up. seriously just drop out and make a new group, why does anyone even use the damn group finder on live right now? make friends, join guilds, so many options. I stopped running with PUGS months ago, in fact I got most of my sets from guild runs, because we finished the run and didn't kick anyone!!

This thread has absolutely NOTHING to do with showing a combat log, because people are getting kicked before combat has started. I'm simply suggesting that a kick requires a group majority vote. FPS shooters have been doing this for years, so why can't this game?

I run PUGs because I'm a Public Service Defender. I may not be the best you'll get, but if you're in the LFG queue, I'll eventually be assigned to your case. ;)

While I haven't met this situation, with the group finder, it is not too easy to just regroup with the same players. Let me tell you an example: v16 tank forms a group with the v10+ DPS inguild mate from the same faction, and starts the tool. 2 players join after 5 and 8 minutes: a v16 healer (looking experienced) and a v1 DPS. The v1 refuses to interact, he aren't responding to whispers, chat messages.

What to do? Regrouping doesn't seem as the best solution, because of the long queue, and we do not want to lose the expwrienced healer. So? We kick the v1 (ofc after a short explanation about the situation).

Seriously? It ends up the same - you ungroup and regroup without that person, it's pretty damn clear they got rejected, it's jut more hurdles. I like the idea of a vote-kick option. Likely wouldn't help a lot but it would some, and I can't see it hurting.

Having been the kickee several times, a few I have no issues with, it would be nice to at least get a reason for being kicked rather than the 'you have been removed from a group' message randomly popping up leaving you standing there in the dungeon wondering where everyone went

Hirelings work well in DDO for a few reasons:
DDO quests are about 20 mins long on average. A few, like The Pit, can take over three hours.
The d20 system is EXTREMELY flexible. Their are about 8 different ways to perform any one job at any point in time.
In concurrence with the above, there are many different classes that can do one job. Multiclassing makes it even more flexible.
The d20 system ensures that pretty much everyone has adequate defenses. Some people do have defense issues with exotic custom builds, but for the most part you don't have to worry about an individual players setup.
d20 combat is pretty simplistic when managed by a computer. AI scripting, therefore, is rather simplistic. The fighter hireling doesn't need to know when to dodge roll, block, or activate synergies. The cleric hireling doesn't need to know where to stand during boss fights. (Dps, on the other hand, is relatively easy to program. Even though it's exceptionally difficult in this game, a computer script could make short work of it.)

Hirelings also have a tendency to spring traps in DDO and fall down pits.

That being said, I think there's there's a reasonable middle ground here.

But why 1 person's time and feelings means more than 3 people's time and feelings?
Btw, sometimes you need to kick someone for acting agressively and screwing up the run for the whole group (pulling everything before the tank... Using 1 hand and sword taunt as their dps skill... Not picking planar inhibitor's pinions and refusing to listen)... Its not like only poor fluffy casuals are getting kicked.

And yeah, I support vote-kick. This is more fair than group leader's decision.

P.S. I guess those who ask for more "casual feelings protection" just dont realize that stuff like this will just divide the community even further and this is not very good for people who cant do their daily quests without carrying. ;) And I'm sure trolls and griefers will be so happy if no one would be able to kick them. :D

Kicking without warning is very annoying, and a bit rude. If someone in the group is making a mistake over and over, tell them. Don't just kick them. They might not even be aware they doing something wrong. If they still continue to not listen then removing them from the group is fair enough.

I agree that the "kick" system needs to be updated. Having one person have the power to dictate who gets to play is ridiculous in pug groups. I like to give players the benefit of the doubt but when I see that the groups tank is lvl 17 on veteran I know I'm stuck tanking. The group should be able to vote to drop that player and return them to normal mode.

In addition to a vote system for dungeons there needs to be a vote system or some way to change group lead in pvp. How many times has the crown DCed and a player that is afk gotten the lead? Countless, even if you try and run a clean group and remove inactive players it happens.

no lvl 17 can group for vet dungeons.
its just not possible to do with group tool. they can only do dungeons if they are above the min lvel, and for vet thats veteran rank 1.

on the other hand nobody should get kicked because of their level.

Just yesterday I grouped with vets via the goruping tool. (on a lvl 48 char)
The first sentence out of the mouth of the v16 tank was to the other v16 DD, that he hopess that he has enough damage to compensate me.
Guess what. i out dpsd the v16 DD, with my 4 lvl underleveled gear.
And I can do the same damage as average v16 DD since 20 lvls
