Colours from high level PvP ranks

This is a cross post from my "Yay! I'm a Grand Overlord!" thread.

I thought some of you who don't PvP would like to see the colours.

Note that I'm wearing:
Heavy Glass Chest
Medium Glass Shoulders
Light Molag Kena Head
Light Glass Legs
Light Glass Gloves
Light Glass Pants
Light Glass Boots

Palatine White (a very white white):

Compared to Julianos White (from AA completion) that is more blue in tint on some armour:

Legate Black (the blackest black):

Compared to Cold Harbour Ash Black (from Cold Harbour completion):

General's Gold (the best gold):

Warlord's Red (wtf - like seriously):

Compared to Emperor Red (oh yeah):

Grand Warlord's Violet (very nice, though more of a blue):

Overlord's Purple (this is frikkin AWESOME):

Grand Overlord's Brass (I was a bit disappointed):

These are my current favourite colours, Palatine White, Legate Black, and General's Gold. I sometimes swap the gold to Overlord Purple (because it's just so awesome of a Purple):

Legate Black def shows up way darker and is more true to a pure black.

but that toon is goth af so idk, her soul looks pretty black to me

That Legate though... I think leather/cloth based armor will definitely show exactly how dark Legate Black is.

Warlords red looks pretty good on cloth thingys. Other then that, Legates black / Generals gold 4 lyfe!

PvE players getting PvP colours is like PvP players getting time trials / hard mode colours. Some of us have done it, and some never will.

Other than Emp red, there are PvE colours quite close to most of the PvP colours. The Legerdemain purple is a bit brighter than Overlord Purple.

This is a perfect illustration of what I have been talking about for a long time. WHY are all the best and most vivid colors restricted to PvP rewards? You can get nothing comparable via PvE.

I really like the Grand Warlord Violet... it does look blue.. not a bad thing

So that's it then.. my next 3-4years are going towards getting a zillion AP for that colour !

There are many PvE players who dedicate as many hours to the game. There should be access to all the colors via both PvE AND PvP.

Well whatever. If I had known you get these cool colours with higher ranks I guess I would have sticked to 1 PvP character instead of playing 4.

The best green in game comes from Sanctum.
The complete-all-quests per faction colours are awesome.
Akatosh's Scales gold is more gold than General, though General is yellower.
Julianos white looks brightest, though Palatine is a more pure white.
Legerdemain (fence a LOT of gold) Purple is similar to Overlord, and takes a lot less time.
The Blue/Violet from Grand Warlord is similar to something my wife has on her sorc (I don't know what the colour is).
Grand Overlord's Brass is similar to Dwemer (know all the motif) colour.

The only colour you can't get in PvE is the AMAZING emperor red.

The problem with darkest black is that you dont see the different textures of the material you dye it.It all just looks blackened out.

Glass is the most horrible thing to dye those colors would look so much better on xivkyn heavy chest or the trinimac armor if you have those

one of my favorite pvp colors is nightblades indigo

And do not forget the rich who, regardless of what they dedicate many hours to, have money and want the colours right now. There should also be a way to get them from the cash shop. Rewards playwalled with insane PvE/PvP grind are just unacceptable!!!
