How to introduce Worship of the Divines and Other Gods into the Game

Here's an idea , tell me what you think guys:

The Building of Shrines to the Nine Divines (and Sithis)

Guilds could work hard to gather mineral resources from around the world to build a Guild Shrine to one of the Nine divines and later place valuable offerings of different types to receive a blessing / buff for every single member of the guild.

The offerings for each of the Divines would be placed on the Guild Shrine / Altar and would all be different .........depending on which Divine that your guild chose to worship.

Flowers and rare herbs for some , money / gold and gem stones for others, (even gathered body parts from difficult NPC kills / PVP kills for worshipping Sithis.)

You would earn XP for constructing the shrine.... and more XP for making each offering made.

Would provide great opportunities for role-playing... ( Midnight or sunset guild rituals around your guild altar for example)

Altars / Shrines would degrade over time... and so need regular up-keep and repair - in order for your guild to keep and maintain the blessings of your guild's chosen Divine.

What do you think?

Why out of all the deities ingame do you choose the False imperial Pantheon? The Tribunal is where it is at.

Let's leave the worshipping to real world. Enough wars and killing out here to go around without it going in game

It's a significant part of the Elder Scrolls lore though. Plus I think it would be fun.

The problem with introducing worship is there are SO many gods that would need to be represented. No, we don't need them all at once but it can't just be the Divines and the Daedra and Tribunal. We have a good deal of Redguard lands so their pantheon should be represented well. The Khajiit Panteon should be recognized as well.

I have a concept on religions but it really needs updated. (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/231126/worship-in-tamriel-an-eso-religion-concept/p1)

I like the idea of guild shrines (and personal ones) that need upkeep.

Would the blessing stack for all 5 guilds? I am assuming that from your 5 guilds, you can only choose one blessing at a time.

I actually prefer that there are no buffs whatsoever from guilds because I prefer to choose guilds based on people I enjoy playing with. I recently joined a guild that I know I can count on for daily active PvP groups. They probably have less than 200 members. I don't look to them for a guild store benefits or anything apart from PvP with Teamspeak. I am not a big PvP fan, but I enjoy PvP with them. I don't want to feel pressured to drop them for a guild that better maintains a buff source.

While I am hesitant to endorse this idea, I actually do think it is a great concept. I just don't like the negative pressure it has on guilds. Guild stores already mess up guilds enough. I don't want to feel like I need to leave one of my guilds because none of them have the altar I need for one of my characters. Considering that all 8 characters share the same 5 guilds, having only 1 of 9 shrines per guild just further makes the people in guilds mean less than the game mechanics guilds support (store, shrine, travel-to).

I would prefer a generic buff.

While the RP aspect of this idea is great, guilds are best when they also matter outside of Tamriel -- as a place for real people who enjoy playing together to connect.

Oh I agree... I'm just sayin' it' would be a lot of work. Personally I would prefer that the only "whole" pantheon we get right away are the Divines. We shouldn't even get all the Daedra right away.

There should be more contact with the Aedras. There are many daedras in the game, but no Aedras appearing and personally speaking with the mortals, the same way as the daedras do.

This is a really cool idea. Being able to visit shrines or help with the upkeep or rebuilding of shrines dedicated to your favorite Aedra or Deadra sounds sweet. I would love to be able to craft a weapon or get a very special item and present it to Lord Hircine or Lord Sithis to gain their favor.

OP if you look up Dark Souls Covenants you can earn points. The more you earn the more you can rank up and get access to abilities or other special events. This would work really well with your idea, and could unlock maybe special skill lines/dailies/quests depending on what item you present to your god of choice.

I think swearing allegiance to Aedra or Daedra and then having a new skill line much like you can choose Vamp or Werewolf (or none) would be awesome.

I actually made a similar suggestion before wherein players could chose a divine or daedra to worship.

My idea was that players would accumulate worship scores based on engaging in worship activities and then the top 10 players would be randomly selected to receive one of 2-3 daedric artifact items.

The items would only last 4 days before being retrieved by their master (as in lore), and upon receiving an item a players score would return to zero.

Artifacts would give players unique powers and vary depending on who you worship.

For example worshipping Malacath would give you a chance to receive the Volundrung, worshipping hircine would give you a chance to receive hircines armor or the ring of hircine, etc etc.

I agree. This is one of the things I really would love to see in ESO, a "religious" skill line one can choose. Even if it was only a few passives matching the diety flavor, I want the option for my characters to declare for a diety!
BtW, Werewolf is kinda already declaring for Hircine, and vampire is kinda already swearing off all aedra and daedra, so those two would be mutually exclusive with all other religious skill lines.

Good idea, i always though aedra and daedra need to be more involved in this game. There could be also quest related to them, no new zone required. Just by exploiting what is already there. Chain of quests leading to some old daedric artefact.
