so... templars and sorcerers got nerfed because of performance?

Adjusted several abilities to improve overall game performance. Affected abilities will now tick less frequently, but deal more damage such that overall damage should remain constant. The affected abilities include:
Blazing Spear
Consuming Darkness and its morphs
Eruption
Lightning Splash and its morphs
Necrotic Orb and its morphs
Path of Darkness and its morphs
Radiant Destruction and its morphs

basically Radiant Destruction, Blazing Spear and Lightning Splash is what i'm refering to, less ticks means less passive procs meaning less overall damage. not only that but those poor templars got hit by it twice as hard.

tbh i see eruption as a buff since DK's passives boosts the actual damage and not procs from said damage :)

I was looking forward to using Skoria with my DK, so not really a buff sadly :/ I guess I'll just have to grind some Nerien'eth then...

What is the difference in the duration between ticks? Are we talking every 1 second instead of 0.5 seconds?

The proc rates for the passives could always be increased to compensate if needed. Honestly if it improves game performance, and the damage is adjusted, as well as the prox rates if needed. I don't see it as an issue.

It's not an issue, my blazing spear pulse and RD never did that much damage for 1 cast, well RD was technically 2 casts

My Blazing Spear tool tip shows more but my Radiant Oppression shows MUCH less, is this just visual and in practice it still performs the same amount of damage? It's very worrying if its not!

Not sure what they did to RD but it seems as if it's working as it was intended to, the first hit is always a crit dealing 100% damage

    another one for proof

My Blazing Spear in practice is still ticking every second, but the damage is doubled, so I think they screwed that one up because it was never .5 second ticks (I verified this on the PTS). So they actually (accidentally no doubt) have buffed Blazing Spear.

RD is ticking once per second instead of once every .5 seconds, but I haven't tested the damage part to see if it is overall the same or not. If the ticks are actually larger, there are times in PvP at least where that can be advantageous, of course it will proc less "on damage" type bonuses.

Apparently the toolitps for the DK skill that got changes are wacked out, but the actual damage is correct. This is why when you test, you have to test using damage addons and not tooltips.

Blazing spear and lightning splash are essential skills for Templar and Sorcerer DPS. This will hit especially Sorcerers pretty hard. Less crits with lightning splash> less overall damage, less concussion procs and of course less disintegration. And for Templars, Burning light of course O.o

As for radiant destruction, this COULD be a buff. My radiant destruction can crit for over 30k if it crits. Meaning it should now crit for like 60k, providing me with more burst. This could actually help in pvp. But we'll see.... Blazing spear and lightning splash will be pretty poor now.

Keep in mind the target was around 2% hp or so when I hit them with that radiant. Looks like radiant did get a nerf?

I can't believe they did this... and the worst part is, I am having more performance issues NOW than prior to the patch.. I am now going from 44-60FPS to 12-23FPS when doing World Boss fights and the only way to fix it is to close the game and restart it. Reloadui doesn't work. I have a 4GB Video Card with all updated drivers that is less than a month old.

I think it is time to send whomever is doing the coding for abilities back to school to learn how to do it right without breaking the rest of the game and nerfing what doesn't need to be touched.

I am tired of having my advancement, progression and usefulness taken away!!!

If it does, rest assured it will be hotfixed. Not that it would matter, after the Orsinium patch the Jezuz Beam spammage has died down almost completely anyway.

So I noticed that my Refreshing Path heals like a truck now. Before patch, my Refreshing Path heals around 500+ per 0.5 second. And after the patch, it heals 5000+ per 1 second. Basically, I just put down my Refreshing Path and never to worry anything anymore.

Having skills that tick twice per second has its benefits, for example when you use elemental drain, if you want to proc the disintegration passive, if you want resources back with Siphon Attacks etc.

I would like to know how the change in ticks help the stability of the game. If it does, why not change ticks on all dot skills then. Also, it took them this long to realize that changing ticks would help stability. Wasn't there a ridiculously long maintenance where they supposedly were upgrading their servers and equipment? I guess it wasn't enough to fix the problem and this dot tick change was all we needed.....

I think they are just using the "for performance improvements" as an excuse to nerf abilities thinking players will be okay with it.
