* BOSS MECHANICS *

*I highly recommend Harness Magicka(Light Armor skill morph) for the majority of these fights if you are a magicka build*

Stage 1 - Pretty straightforward...Just kill everything

Stage 2 - Do not follow the spinning blades. If one is coming your way, just walk through it, don't run with it. After you bring the first centurion down to a certain amount of health, another will spawn. Dps that one until it goes into the resting mode like the last one. Another will spawn, DPS it until it goes into the resting mode. The original centurion will get back up, dps it until it goes into the resting mode. Repeat. It will rotate until they die.

Stage 3 - Make sure you kill the stranglers because they can really screw you up. Kill all the adds immediately as they spawn. When the water is electrified, don't stay in it for too long. Other than that, pretty simple, just DPS the boss, and keep up your heals.

Stage 4 - This fight is a little complicated. When the boss is walking around the room with a green circle under it, to avoid taking damage you have to be in that green circle. However, as you are DPSing it in the green circle, adds will spawn. Most importantly, mini dwarven spears that will go to the middle. After a few seconds of being that, they will gain a large damage shield and throw out lightning damage. It's important to kill these before they set up their shield. They are very squishy. When the boss does its fire stage, avoid melee DPS. Be sure to kill all adds as they spawn. Unless you are super close to killing the boss, kill the adds.

Stage 5 - A lot of things going on in this stage. Main thing to keep in mind: kill the troll breakers that go onto a platform and smash it. You can interrupt them. This stage is somewhat anti melee. The ranged mobs stay in the water, so you have to go in the water to kill them. The water deals damage, so don't stay in it too long. When the boss reaches around 70% health, it will break the platform it's closest too. Be sure to be AWAY from the platform, because when it smashes it, it will kill you if you are too close. At around 50% it will break another platform, leaving you with one left. As long as you don't let any trolls damage it, you will keep the last platform. You can maneuver around this boss to avoid its damage. Kill all adds as they spawn, and don't let troll breakers damage the platforms.

Stage 6 - Like the rest, kill the adds as they spawn. Most importantly, the spider that looks like the boss. There are multiple pillars around the room. When the mini spiders spawn, you have to go to a pillar that is glowing. The mini spiders will run away from the glowing pillar, and you won't take damage from them. There will be a hoarver that spawns; if you kill it, a venom sack will be on the ground, which can be synergized and thrown at a pillar that is webbed. If you kill the hoarver close to a webbed pillar, the pillar will unweb automatically. If you get all pillars unwebbed, everything in the room will be stunned, and you can burn the boss. Throughout the fight, webbing spiders will spawn near a pillar and web it. It's important to kill them before they web the pillar. *Also I didn't know that you can tap the hoarver, and it will follow you, so you can kill it near the pillar you want to unweb*

Stage 7 - The plants will explode with poison; if you get hit, run the green pools which are at opposite ends of the room. Once you remove the poison, the green pool will temporarily disappear. When your screen turns green, there is a summoner. They will be in one of the corner platforms, and they have to die ASAP. When the boss spawns 2 mages, kill one, and leave the other. After you kill one of them, go near the other. The boss will do an AOE screaming attack, and the mage will create a shield around itself. Go inside the shield, and use dps on the boss only. Do NOT stun or damage the add. If any summoners were alive before the scream that you did not kill, they will automatically die during the scream.

Stage 8 - In this stage, the boss will not take any damage until you destroy all 3 pillars around the room. After you destroy the pillars, burn the boss. After a certain amount of time, the pillars will respawn, and you need to repeat the process. Kill adds as you see them, mainly the fire mages. They do channeled attacks which increase in damage over time. Be sure to interrupt them. Maneuver around the boss to avoid its damage.

Stage 9 - A lot of mechanics here. DPS the boss until it reaches around 68-70%. Then, it will leave the bottom floor and go up. Kill adds as they spawn, especially crematorial guards because they deal a lot of damage. Dodge the boss' charged skull attack when you see it coming, and bash the boss when it is channeling the aoe attack. It increases over time, so it's very important to bash it. If you are too far, then you can dodge roll and heal through it, but it is risky. After the boss goes up, spectral clanfears will spawn. Bring the clanfear to a portal(3 of them around the room) that is glowing. Kill it near the glowing portal, and a portal should spawn. I wasn't aware that you can get a portal by killing it near a glowing platform when I was recording this video. Once you go up the portal, there will be aoe circles that you need to avoid. Watch out for the boss' charged attack; be sure to dodge it. DPS the crystals down. There will be a rock wall that spawns and moves around the room. When you see it, get behind it and stay behind it because the boss will do an aoe that will knock you off if you aren't behind the wall. If the rock wall spawns on the opposite side of the room, don't chase it - go in the opposite direction because chasing it will take longer. Once you kill all the portals, the boss will knock you down onto the bottom floor. Be mindful of the charged skull and channeled attacks the boss does. Do NOT let the boss absorb two of the gold ghosts. If it does, it will do an AOE that cannot be stopped and will kill you. Be sure to grab the ghosts, as they will allow you to use a spectral explosion, which initiates a burn phase. Kill all adds as they spawn, and kill the summoners that walk towards the center of the room. If you let them live, they will spawn a bone colossus. After you kill adds, keep DPSing boss. If you use a spectral explosion while the boss is at low health, just DPS it as much as you can. It would be helpful to use a power sigil, however keep in mind, it does lower your score(if you are going for a high score).

Hope this was helpful! If there is anything I missed be sure to let me know down below :p

You can absorb the blades damage with harness magicka in stage 2 because its magic damage for some reason

Didnt know the thing with the golden ghost on the endboss. I had to do insane dps to kill it before he did his aoe. With knowing that the boss will be pretty easy.

You're right. The mechanics are not related to Templar; they are the arena's mechanics in general.

Nice video. I am looking forward to seeing a Templar contrive to pull off a no death run. I think the most difficult rounds to be a Templar on are 4 and 7.

I agree on 7. It completely ruins my scores.

Doing it on a Sorc first is definitely going to hurt you on your Temp just because you have to pay attention to all of the mechanics on a Temp. On a temp you have to be more mindful of the mechanics since you are going to have less dps, less damage shield cushion, and less mobility. You should have done it on your Temp first lol.

I have heard, and also experienced that when you are melee on the poison boss, he have one attack that does crazy amount of dmg over time. If I remember correctly, it was market as bleed in death recap. I might be wrong, but I also read in a guide someone wrote, that you should never be melee on this boss because of it.

AAh nice, great tip. So its the CC attack that does bleed. I am usually quick on the cc break, so that would help me a lot :)

I feel it would of been just as beneficial if you showed or told us the gear and skills you used; but thanks for the written mechanics and video. Also I have seen your name a lot on Twitch. People on there have been requesting that you join the, "We Are Eso" podcast to address the current state of Templars. I have heard you are one of the top Templar players too.

true that round 7 is actually the worst for us. first 2 arena runs i done round 7 full ranged killing any enemies and permainterrupt the boss XD it was like a 15mins fight with the boss in permaenrage (if he touch you it's over 34kphisical+50kbleed) , and it was hard as hell. obviously at my 3rd try i started melee it XD the most hard part is to keep an eye on 4 platforms and try to syncro them with the boss aoe, if you die one time the boss resets and platforms too, and the summoner npc will spawn just after boss aoe *** up all tactic:| but after stage 7 you can say ''ohhhh finally finished this arena'' haha

When I finally got how this arena worked it really wasnt hard anymore. Just dont interrupt the boss and avoid the plants.

The boss in stage 7 can be bashed/interrupted so you don't need the shield-add iirc.

If you interrupt the boss during his enrage, he can later enrage whether or not you have an add up. If you do, the add won't put up a shield so you are screwed. Learned this the hard way when I ran my Sorc through, didn't have much problems on my Templar though.

Best to just let him enrage and use whatever ranged abilities that you have instead.

Great video and guide Blab :)

Wow, thank you for sharing! I am stuck on the lady giant boss with my magic templar at the moment, and am going back to try again on Tuesday night. I haven't been able to find any videos of magicka templars doing this, so its really helpful to me, thanks
