[Bug] Sprint Locked

@nifty2g - Attempting the following on my Live account did not reproduce the bug:
1.) Spamming the sprint button as fast as possible. This reproduced the bug before the fix was applied.
2.) Spamming sprint and block as fast as possible. This also reproduced the bug before the fix was applied.

We want this bug dead...can you identify anything particular you're doing to get the problem to happen? What is the sequence and timing of keypresses? Would it be possible for you to take a video of the bug?

@ZOS_RyanRuzich it sometimes doesn't work and sometimes does
Double tapping sprint key then walking around afterwards still puts me into sprint lock

For the timing double hit sprint as fast as you can then pause for about half a second before you walk around

Oh, it only works if i hit sprint twice (default key, shift) I'm sorry I'm unable to get a video, pretty bad upload times on my end from Australia too

Edit: I think I know whats causing it actually when you hit shift your bars flicker, hitting shift again on the bar flicker and moving around after that is what is causing it for me, same with the bash one

I can confirm this is still happening in my character post Orsinium. Quite annoying. As above, I double tap the shift key and would sometimes be locked in sprint (not able to use any skills). The only workaround is to use up all my stamina to get back to normal.

I am playing on NA, AD side; I am in NZ (so not sure if this relates to the location of the player).

Any update on this? I would say this bug stands out a lot during Arena.

I can reproduce it quite easily. Hold block, double tap sprint button. Sometimes I have to double tap sprint a few times while holding block, but after not many tries it sprint locks.

This is done with no addons.

To get out of it, either hit sprint again, or wait til stamina dies. Both are demonstrated in the video.

@Aletheion @Nifty2g - 2.2.6 should have a more encompassing fix in it for this issue for all known reproduction cases. If you're still encountering this issue, would you please let us know?

Can confirm that this bug still exists, sometimes it doesn't work when double-tapping sprint, it takes 4-5 taps in rapid succession to happen, but it still does. It also seems to be related to latency, it takes people with 200+ ping 2 taps but it takes people with 90-120 ping multiple.

Do you think we could get this fixed on consoles now, please? We've been dealing with it since console release. The most noticeable cause is animation cancelling an ultimate such as Dawnbreaker. The only way to fix it from what I've found is waiting for your stamina to completely deplete by walking (even though the game thinks you're sprinting) or sometimes you're able to swap weapons and that will fix it but not very often. While it affects you, you can't use any abilities or ultimates and are forced to roll away to try and deplete your stamina while taking damage and hope your stamina depletes fast enough for you to get your buffs up.

I kinda overcome this issue after getting Sprint Locked, clicking shift again solved it.

We know but normally happens and you realise its happening at the worst of times.
But yeah I'm still getting the issue we have discussed it with friends and guildies it seems to be different based on ping, sometimes as gilliam said people have to press it about 4 or 5 times in a row and i myself have to press it twice to get it to happen

Thanks to your posts about latency possibly being a cause, and that the problem seemed to get better after the patch for some people and not others, we were able to get another set of reliable reproduction steps. We're working on a fix now.

Ryan, are you aware of the existing of the "No-block/No-break-free left clicking anything in the game doesn't work at all in the game bug? /console reloadui or relogging is the only way to fix this issue. It happens to me constantly in PvP and very rarely in PvE.

Also did your attempts to fix to this bug remove the ability to use any abilities while sprinting? I can no long block or cast anything while I'm sprinting, I have to let off the sprint key like it used to function back in Pre-IC.

I am unable to replicate this bug anymore, I've tried numerous times just hitting sprint in rapid succession. Before I'd get locked and now I'm not seeing it happen at all. I'll see if some of my Oceanic friends are able to replicate, as they have much higher latency than I do.

Yea it does. Double click sometimes.

Not 100% fixed. Had it happen today but it would b a very very rare case. Was sprinting and got a load screen in an area that you usually get one when leaving mournhold and when I got out of the brief screen was bar locked. No big deal as this will happen maybe once in a blue moon but its definitely still there.

i think the sprint and bash was the major causes of it but yeah this doesnt sound like a problem really seems difficult to fix that too

Happened 3 times in an hour to me last night and resulted in my death each time. It is so frustrating to be unable to fix this bug while people are beating on you or chasing you.

Please hold...my left click no longer works in the game....let me /reloadui.

This has to be something that is easy for them to track down...

Nah it's not that old bug. New one. When they fixed sprint swap. Anytime you die and are skilling you can get it. Super annoying. Have to tab double click something. Tab back in. It's like left or right click is stuck on the down command somewhere

The bug you're describing, not being able to left or right click randomly, isn't the same as the bug this thread (Ability bar being locked while spamming sprint) is dealing with (unless there's a misunderstanding ). Can you start a new thread and include as much detail as possible to help us narrow it down? A Video of it happening with as much information as possible, in as high of a resolution as possible, might help.

This has to be something that is easy for them to track down...

This has been happening to me since the last incremental patch (last Monday I think), happens in almost every fight on my Templar. Clicks stop working and my abilities won't activate. Probably had to reloadui 15 times in about a 3hr span last night. Pretty much dead in the water when it happens. Seems correlate with breaking knock back cc (wb and javelin seem to be the worst offenders), but that could just be coincidence.

Very Annoying bug to say the least.


EDIT: Doesn't happen on my sorc, only on the Templar so far.
