Console: Review Day 2 coming from PC
My personal notes of my second day on XB1.
General
First of all I have to say that I have had LOADS of fun today. I have really been enjoying myself in PVP. The major factor for that is the built in voice chat, which makes pug groups in PVP much more fun than on PC. And I enjoy being able to play on my couch tremendously.
Specific
- Baby pvp is lots of fun.
- Inventory: Item groups should be collapsed, or there should be a nested menu. I don't want to scroll through 50 enchanting and provisioning items every time I visit my bank.
- I should be able to talk to players directly, either friends, guildies, group members, whatever. We need a voice equivalent for whisper. Say I come online and my friends are already playing, I want to talk to one of them personally, to ask him to invite me.
- There was no voice chat for remote group members. Odd. I hooked up with one of my friends, but we were in different zones in PVE. I could not talk to him.
- We need an option to "ask to join a group", and the ability to merge groups. Trying to turn your pug into a meaningful 24 man group is almost impossible. The group leader has to invite people individually with that start button hold, which is not quite that easy if they keep moving around. The reality is that 80% are already in a group. So I can't ask them to join my group or ask them to merge their group with ours. The result is that you have tons of 2 or 3 player groups running around, getting massacred by on organized raid of the other faction. There should be some kind of equivalent to posting "LFG" in zone chat.
- Why is there no cyrodiil zone chat? How do group commanders communicate over long distances to coordinate their attacks? How do I find out what is happening on a strategic level when I enter Cyrodiil?
- How do I see my armor percentage? Yes, I know I had an addon for that. Usecase: I am doing something. How do I know when I have to go back to repair? I don't want to find out when I am the merchant, and I don't want to go through my items individually. I need to be able to access this information before a quest/dungeon or during a dungeon, to be able to decide if I should go back to repair first or not.
- You can't move while looking at the map. This is terrible.
- We should get an option to choose between showing the quest tracker and a minimap. In PVP you just don't need that quest tracker, but you need to know what is happening around you at all times.
