Worst PVP experience over 30+ years gaming

I'm not talking about the game alone, ESO is one of the best online game i ever played.

However, it's the player habit in the game, almost everytime I dead in PVP, other players will XXXX my corpse.
Last time my daughter was watching me playing PVP and asked me what are they doing on my char's dead body, which i don't know how to explain such a behavior to a girl.

If ESO is a small society, ZOS should be responsible to stop such an ridiculous and offense activities happening in their game.
it's like the broken glass theory, if they do nothing, it's just encourage other player to follow.

Hmm, well the only thing ZOS could really do is remove the emotes and punish everyone for the behavior of really just a few overall... I mean, you might be able to screenshot and report for harassment/griefing?

Assuming you are being for real and not trying to be funny. Unexpected complaint really, especially from a male player but I can appreciate trying to prevent small children from seeing/hearing negatives, and your right to play unmolested so to speak despite "but ESO is rated M bro"

Edit: Also I don't want to get MOD dinged for talking "too real" but I found it better to start explaining early the immaturity level of boys to our daughters. They are stuck dealing with it from elementary school till 30s minimum....better they(girls) are prepared to handle it than not.

If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

If I understand it correctly (I think I do), then this happened to me once, a few months ago, too (I rarely do PvP). I thought I don't see right, really..

I think the only thing ZOS could actually do against this unacceptable behaviour is to remove certain "/animations", or ban these players.

I'm playing games for ages, too, but since this is my first MMO, I'm still surprised how many sick people are out there.. or, in this case, in the game. Too many..

I don't know if I believe that you have been gaming for as long as you claim if this is the first time you have experienced this type of behaviour. Emoting / 'tea bagging' corpses is very common. If you don't want to see it just keep your death recap open. This really is a non-issue.

No offense OP; but 30 years of playing and you want to pretend like this sort of thing isn't a regular occurrence in online multiplayer? This stuff is not exclusive to ESO at all and has not been for at least 10 years.

And I would also ask myself "How old is my daughter, and what is this M in a white box at the bottom of my screen?" Even with that, they still add the legal extra of "Online interactions not rated by the ESRB" because they have known for years how an online community can be.

you explain it to your daughter the way you'd explain it to any human. if you're sheltering your daughter from real life then she'll be unprepared as an adult to enter the world when she leaves your home.

My parents over sheltered me, and I wish they hadn't. I have been on my own long enough now to have learned what I didn't while I still lived with them though. The point is, people need to let their kids know about what happens in the real world. Most are smart enough to figure things out and know what's right and wrong without you even telling them.

No, personally i don't mind what they did, it happens on other online games too. Good player do the bow, bad player do the bang, that's it.
it's just because of my daughter came into my room accidently when i'm playing game, and the first time I have to think of a reason for people doing that in the game.
It's completely different situation when you see something by yourself, and to explain something they see to a child, you'll know it in the future when you have one.

After you are done explaining the brutal slaughter of your character to your kids, just tell them they are trying to stealth over and over, but are stuck in combat. You don't even have to lie.

If your daughter really is too young to realise what's going on simply by seeing it then is she old enough to be watching you play a game with the rating this one has?

Not in any way trying to condone such juvenile behaviour, but TBH this is the sort of thing I see talked about in PVP in every game I play that has a PVP element.

    You burn people alive.
    You explode them.
You poison them or make them die from diseases.
You throw them to their deaths from great heights.
You smash their heads with hammers, slash them with swords, pierce their bodies with arrows.

Yet somehow a simple gesture of defiance is suddenly considered "Worst PVP experience over 30+ years gaming". This reminds me of the article that asks why should we be actually nice to people that are our antagonists and all we want is to see them dead (in game). Honestly, I find this duality much more distrubing than a casual teabag.

Vanquish your enemies, raze their castles to the ground, burn their bodies and let no sign of their passage remain. It's a war. Leave the politically correct garbage out of the door and live your PvP without ambiguity. You can still be friends with people in real life after you killed them in game and tea bagged their helpless bodies. It's gonna be ok, I promise you.

Not seen much of this on the EU server.

But I agree it's childish behaviour. Personally I usually salute or bow to an opponent's corpse in the unlikely event I win a 1v1. But that's just me, I've never been one for trash talking opponents. However, it doesn't really bother me if others feel the need to be abusive, I just find it rather tragic they should get a kick out of it, or that it makes them feel important somehow.

Best solution is to not hang around too long aftter a death. If you're solo or separated from your group, you're unlikely to get a rezz so release and run back. If you're dead in the zerg and the enemy are standing over your corpse and abusing it, then you likely aren't getting a rezz either. Release and run back.

What you don't see you don't get offended by, so just take steps to shield yourself (and your daughter) from this behaviour if it bothers you. Others can't be responsible for what you allow your children to see online.

I have the same problem with my grand kids. I can usually come up with something funny then turn their attention to something else. Sad part this is how some people's attitude is when it comes to games on the internet. They don't care if a child is watching and what may be going thru that child's head. In fact am pretty sure they don't even think a child would be watching with the games rating. They will use this as an excuse it is your fault for letting the kids watch. Yet these same people will do the exact same thing any child would do to see what is going on. Called watching and learning.

Just remember with these children we allow to watch we must make sure they don't turn into the people doing the xxx stuff in games.
