I recently became stuck under the stairs during a siege on Nikel Outpost in Cyrodiil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntGcj0L-bcQ&feature=youtu.be and the only way to fix it was with the /stuck command which only worked after combat had ended and it charged me nearly 100g for the act.

Now this game is notorious for people falling through the world, getting stuck in keep walls, jammed between hungry rocks, etc so why the hell is there a gold cost for the only solution?

I mean it is frustrating enough getting bugged out like this in the middle of doing something then having to re-spawn and work you way back to wherever it was that you were, charging the players gold on top of that, for something that isn't even the players fault, something that has interrupted their game play is just a massive d*** move.

The only reason I can see for this is to prevent players from using /stuck as a free alternative to Wayshrine travel but surely there is a better solution to that? Kicking players in the coin purse when they're already down is just not cool man, not cool.

100 gold isn't that much. Also I have played since beta in both pve and pvp and have probably only used stuck 3 times. I really don't think it is a big issue. Seems a pretty silly thing to get upset about when there are issues like lag in cyrodiil that need to be addressed.

The cost isn't the issue, the fact that it exists is. I too have played since beta and have needed to use /stuck many, many times. This week alone in Cyrodiil I have had 2 people in my guild get stuck in rocks, an enemy player fall into a keep wall, a group member get stuck inside a wall that was being repaired and this issue here. Yes the things such as lag and stability are more serious but that does not mean that this one should simply be ignored.

Instead of using /stuck I usually will just port to a guild member "you don't need to be in a group with them to port to them". Its annoying and I would much rather /stuck move me out of the object I'm stuck in then port me to a wayshrine.

Next time: Press L. Go to Guest (or home if you are elsewhere) Campaign. Then, go back to wherever you were. Is but one more port and saves your gold.

Good news, you got a safe front row seat to the battle. Bad news...you where powerless to do anything about it.

Its there to keep players from using it for free travel. The idea is 100 gold isnt much, just about anyone has more than that on them at all times, but if you keep dropping 100g chances are you are not stuck, just lazy.

It's the same as the cost to teleport to a wayshrine. The hint is that they don't want it used as a free "take me to a wayshrine" button.

Port to a party member or guildmate.

I believe it was because of PVP issues where people would use it to rapidly port back to their home bases from the other side of the map. Not 100% sure on that one.

As other have said however, outside of Cyrodiil if you're stuck just open a trade guild and port to any random person.

This is standard in MMOs. Travel costs exist as a gold sink, and unfortunately people would abuse a help feature if it offered free travel.

Travel to a wayshrine via friend or guildie free. Open guild roster or contacts, right click travel to player.

I get stuck nearly every time I play, its quite annoying and I agree with the OP that it is weird that I get charged for a bug.

Edit: It happens most of the time in pvp, rarely had the problem in pve.
