NEED HELP, PORT TRIGGERING

So I've been having frequent game crashes, like I can barely enjoy the game at this point. I've been getting assistance from technical support but I was told to set up port forwarding. I understand the risks with that so I would feel more comfortable doing a port triggering. In the port triggering menu there's two sections one is SERVICE and the other is REQUIRED INBOUND CONNECTION. Under service it asks me to choose the service type, TCP or UDP there is no both. Under that it asks for the TRIGGERING PORT. Those are the only two things that confuse me. These are the ports I need.....
TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507

Here is an example of what I'm seeing.
Can someone please explain to me how I would set this up???

I'm not familiar with NetGear routers. So can't say well.

But if there is no TCP/UDP choice, only TCP and UDP, then you need to enter those ports twice: one as TCP and other as UDP.

I'm not sure about Triggering port, but I guess it would be the first one of each entry. 24100, 24300 and 24500.

It says Enter the outbound port number in Triggering Port box, and in the example it has the number 25.
There's another site that says specify the Trigger Port of the outbound packets that will activate the port triggered service.

To necro, do we use the trigger port as the first port in the range?

if not, how do we find out what is the trigger port?

    Thanks

The way port triggering works is that once there is traffic out of the trigger port, it opens the ports in the range for a time. Only traffic from the trigger port will open the range.

See image. Rinse and repeat for the 2nd and third ranges, using a unique service name.

this right here is exactly how you do it.

Once traffic flows on the trigger port, it will open the ports in the range specified.

Our eyes once were blinded, now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle, now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen, and when the world shall see, and when the world remembers, that world will cease to be. - Miraak

Why not just dial through pppoe ? that way you skip the entire port forwarding BS and can easily test to see if it is the problem.

Im not sure how old your netgear is but it should have a bridge or halfbridge mode allowing you to set up a core isp on your router as well as allowing you to dial through with a connection. This way you resolve the majority of your port forwarding issues.
