Guild Trader Information (NA Server - PC)

NOW BEING UPDATED AGAIN!

Greetings!

I've been keeping records on Guild Trader locations (for my own use) for some time now, and one of my friends pointed it out to me that there isn't currently much information to be found on the specific locations of the traders in the game, much less which guilds currently occupy each slot. So... I thought I'd share this.

It generally takes me a couple of days each week to get my information completely updated, but I do plan to maintain this spreadsheet for the forseeable future. I try to be very careful with my data (spelling, etc), but I am far from infallible, so there may very well be mistakes to be found. Inform me of them in this thread and I will correct them as soon as I can.

Anyway, on to the spreadsheet. It's pretty simple. It lists all 171* Guild Trader locations in the game (not counting Cyrodiil) and the guilds that are currently controlling them. There is a tab for each week. I collected 32 consecutive weeks of data before dropping the project for 34 weeks (due to having extremely limited play time). I began collecting data again on the week of 6/27/2016 (week 67). The spreadsheet does not include Cyrodiil traders, and I do not plan to change that at this time. Guild names that are written in red signify a change of ownership for the trader. In these cases, I also list where that guild was located the previous week (if applicable).

Blue text used in a trader's name indicates that they are missing, invisible, or otherwise unavailable to some or all of the player base.

I have also included a column for Guildmaster information. If you are the GM of a trade guild who controls a trader (or has controlled a trader in the past few weeks), let me know if you would like to add your contact information to the spreadsheet. just post it in this thread or send me a PM.

Thank you.

REMEMBER! THERE IS A SEPARATE TAB FOR EACH WEEK. IF SOMETHING DOES NOT LOOK CORRECT, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE CORRECT WEEK.

ADDED IN 6/22 UPDATE: For guilds who did not change locations in the current week, I have added a numerical value for the number of weeks they have been in the same spot.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18GhyzmBbDl_h4IAweuxjrM04wF0DrvXSY-nS0sE3y1g/edit?usp=sharing

*As of 8/31, the trader Seeks-Better-Deals at the Verrant Morass Wayshrine in Greenshade exists in two separate instances. One instance is accessible by people who have completed the Greenshade main story quest. The other instance is accessible to those who have not. The two versions of Seeks-Better-Deals are completely independent of each other, and are under the control of different guilds. Due to this issue, there are, technically speaking, 172 guild traders in the game.

First and foremost, thank you for the work you do on this. It can't be easy to compile all of this. So, thank you for doing this. Yes, I said thanks twice, now it's been said 3 times. But I mean it.

It would be great if this information was in the game somehow. I know of a couple of Guilds I prefer to buy from (one because they tend to have all the provisioning writ foods on sale) and another because they were great for buying re-searchable items from (although I don't need that now)

Whilst this is great info (and top work BTW)

I feel the GM column is unnecessary.

No active GM (except for maybe in the needy attention seeking guilds), will want their in-game details splashed all over the web, especially those from the largest trading guilds like ESE, Balmart etc. They will be hounded for guild join invites non-stop then..

    Excellent work though!

Very good work here, it'll help lock out the elitists. I, for one, started a trade guild again, and I am nothing but sick of every guild doing the "ohmygerd my head will explode if I don't get the exact same kiosk again!" thing and dropping 500k every week. Servers go down, they come back up Soon(tm ZOS, all rights reserved), and if I'm lucky enough to be on I might be able to find an empty kiosk somewhere in the booneys.

It's absolute crap that I keep getting 150k, 250k, 300k, returned to the guild bank week after week. It has been nearly a year since this broken system appeared, six months since a group of GMs got together to lock smaller guilds out of the big cities and shut down all discussion that doesn't benefit THEM. A month after b2p, folks are looking around and saying "This game is just as broken as when I left."

A quote from one frustrated player sums up my feelings: "Retextured Senche mounts are not reason enough for me to stay."

No, we're not all in the same boat. First of all, not all guilds have 5 million to plunk down for a guild trader. Second, most of the big guilds have a longstanding habit of bidding almost nothing for their slots and relying on the threat of retaliation to dissuade bidders. Third, not all guilds are the big happy trade guilds with steady income.

I could go on like that, but my main complaint is how broken the system is and how complacent ZOS has been about making even the smallest improvements.

Retaliation? Lol what are they going to do? I think you're just making that up.

Yep bidding takes a lot of gold, but gold is easy to make in game, even more so with the justice system. We all had to start at the bottom, takes work to get to a point where you can bid and usually takes the GM putting his hand in his pocket too.

Also, if it's not a lively trade guild bidding, then surely it's a wasted kiosk? They're for stores that are fully stocked to help players buy what they need. Nothing worse than a guild sitting on a trader with an empty store.

Yeah, because people who insist on having the same kiosk every week are totally above infiltrating your guild, identifying your resources on hand and bidding history, and using that to oust you from what they see as *their* kiosk that they've been picking up for nothing.

Making it up? You claim to run the server's oldest trade guild. I'm done wasting my time with you.

Infiltrating your guild ? Getting your information ? If so, what prevents you from doing the same with them ? The winner in the end will be the highest bidder, which goes back to the name of the game... don't see anything wrong with that.
And yes, a stable trader in the same good location is a key to be or become a godd trading guild, don't see what's wrong with that either.
This competition is part of the game.

I can't see anywhere in xhat you are stating that some guilds get and keep their kiosks for nothing. That's pure speculation. Yes, you're making it up.

So people who insist on having the same trader every week will go out of their way to outbid a guild that has a different trader?

    Makes perfect sense!

Yes, and to outbid by just enough. Last week I caught another guild snooping in on my guild bank; the GM left the guild on Friday and immediately withdrew the sum of my guild bank's funds, plus another 30k, from their guild bank (of course, putting it back in Sunday night and bidding just above my operating funds).

But hey, if you like sneaky spies, I can play that game. I was the one who first noticed, after update 3, that the API posts the guild trader bids and associated data; pretty easy when I'm writing guild history addons. Kept my mouth shut as a courtesy, but if you're totally cool with that sort of thing...

Hey @Hagbard_OM is this for the NA server or EU?

I've just had a quick look & when I noticed a load of the info was wrong I though 'Must be NA'.

It may be worth updating either the thread title or put something in the post and document to say which server this is. :)

Lost me on this one...You let players take gold out of your bank?

On another note Im one of those small guilds that will get a vendor about 1 time a month and that's bidding 160k or more But I do know some big trade guilds with 12mill or more in there bank that win traders bidding 30k a month ..
What Zos needs to do is let you bid on more than 1 trader( 3) in fact and rank which you whish if you win the bid. Spreading it out and giving guilds a chance suxs to place a bid on one location then seeing a Large Guild Had taken it(deep pockets)

Or even better allow crowns to be bid on a trader..

So you want to take a situation that you don't like in-game where you complain that some guilds have deep pockets & can afford good places all the time and replace it with another situation where the same people get them because they have deep pockets in real life?

    Sounds legit! ;)

Zenimax really does need to shut down any proven instances of collusion or other oligopolistic predatory behavior. It's illegal via antitrust laws in the US/EU for good reason, and will only lead to negative consequences if permitted to exist indefinitely within this community.

It's should never be all right to threaten anyone to keep a game economy playing by the rules of a few, and something that should be made public if it has indeed happened. Secrecy only lets them keep what power they think they have.

Everyone has managed to remain mostly civil up to this point, and I appreciate that. But I must ask everyone to please avoid discussing the pros/cons of the trader system here.

I did not start this thread to create controversy or start a discussion/argument. The thread was created for the sole purpose of providing information. Can we please keep it that way?

We had a spy too a few months back, funny thing was we were the incumbent party on the trader they wanted. It's amazing the lengths some people will go to but they're the exception, not the rule.

    Cool! Thank you very much!

So there are 50 guilds this week that did not have a trader last week, and 23 that are at a different trader than they had last week (probably for various reasons) out of 146. So 50% of traders have a different guild from what they had last week and of those, 35% have a guild that didn't have a public store last week at all.

With regards to the guild trading system in general I hated it the minute I started playing this game ab out a year ago and then left and coming back to it I still hate it.

I think it is a totally rediculous system, even worse than the games twenty years ago had where traders sat around all over the place offering their stuff.

Every game I have plated lately was moving forward, ESO unfortunately insists on some outlandish system and even though there were some improvements a lot of it is still hairbrained. Like for instance also not having closed instances and you wander around dungeons trying to work out which mob you missed because five other players are also killing stuff.
