Can we please get smaller updates while we wait for console release?

@ZOS, Might it be possible to receive smaller updates to ESO that have no direct impact on any of the core system mechanics? This would be a nice little thing for the world while we wait for the Console release and then while we wait through the cooling off period.

These updates could include small environmental and immersion aspects of ESO that have no direct impact on systems, quests, or mechanics. A few ideas of what these could include:
  • A functional torch. This could be a consumable that could be bought for gold and crowns. It could be treated as a “shield” and could occupy the shield slot.
  • The addition of some Argonian and Khajiit skeletons to the game.
  • The beginning of the addition of useable furniture (sitable chairs, climbable ladders, etc.). This doesn’t have to be accomplished in one fell swoop. Changing out the chairs in a few locations at a time would be steps toward a more immersive and functional world.
  • The cluttering up of some if the suspiciously barren spaces in game. Most notably, ships that don’t even have helms. Again, a little could be added at a time.
  • The removal of some of the invisible walls around Tamriel. These frustrate players. Please remove them. Again, they don’t have to all be done at once.
  • The addition of Secunda’s reflection in bodies of water.
  • High Resolution Waterfall Splash at the base of waterfalls. (Suggested by @Eldarth)
  • Add pack horses or horses with carts to traveling merchants so they actually have some wares with them on the road.
  • Add the ability to give gold to beggars. It doesn't have to have any buffs or benefit attached to it... if it did, that would just be a bonus. Perhaps have a 24 hour cool-down where if you speak to the beggar during the preceding 24 hours they simply thank you for your generosity.
  • First person Horse Riding
  • Some new emotes (suggested by @Hasbal HERE )

Anyone else have any ideas of little additions that ZOS could add to Tamriel while we wait?

I always wondered about the skeletons myself. They're all human. Apparently no Khajiit or Argonians ever die, either that or they decompose really, really quickly.

I did a quest where's argonian skeleton was talking to me but it used a human skeleton as the model.

I'm hoping for functional torches for a long time already; now even more since, apparently, the nights are much darker. Often I can barely see a thing, or nothing at all. But still no torches, makes sense.. *rolleyes*

And them functioning as shields makes a lot of sense. I would PREFER that we have the option to have torches out with no weapon but I'd be OK with needing to consume a weapon swap slot to achieve that.

They should reduce the amount of XP needed to gain a veteran rank from 1,000,000 to something like 100,000. It's simple fix that shouldn't have any affect on other systems and will make good on their promise to reduce the pain of the veteran system.

id rather have everythign mentioned here than a comprehensive game balance. really, trying to balance the game has stunted its growth. ZOS needs to say:

'shut up, hold your britches, heres's some new content we are working on, so balance is SOL till we get this done'

if only they would say that, if only they would do that. but no, pvp op/nerf criers always take facking priority.

I feel the same way @bloodenragedb14_ESO. Making the world more immersive should be one of the top priorities. Setting the foundation for a more robust environment is a key element to the growth of the program.

I added first person horse riding... I can't believe I didn't have that before.

also should I be putting this suggestion somewhere else? what's the likeliness that it's actually getting to the people that make these sorts of decisions?

I don't think the question is whether it will "get to them" or not, but rather "when they'll get to adding it" amongst the priority list of added features.
TL;DR - If you got this far without reading the entire post you're either too lazy or suck at reading comprehension and probably don't belong in a public forum anyway. Just move along, you wouldn't understand.

Oh, I agree. I'm just hoping that during the next 4 or 5 months while the console "releases and cools" we might get small updates like the ones I've suggested. they're not major content updates but there are those of us that would consider them to be significant updates.

Because of immersion and for RP purposes.
Wouldn´t torches be best created as weapons though? Since you can hold a weapon in your off-hand with no main hand weapon equipped and they could even do low fire damage.

That is how the mobile app market makes its money. Gives you a half assed app, gets you to buy some stuff on the side and never gets improved. If you want repeat customers (ie people who return to keep buying that stuff on the side) they need to know/feel the core is solid. Right now it is not solid. The core (the major balance issues, bugs, crashes, loading times, lag etc) issues should have priority... and its hard to say if even those do right now.

They've had priority for a YEAR!!!!

well.. not really. For the past 6 months the priority has been shoving the console version out by June 9th... but still. The WHOLE reason for the conversion to CP was to appease end-gaming min-maxers.

I don't care about balance. I care about immersion. period.

I'd settle for minor bug fixes on abilities that don't appear to be working, such as the vampire talent to reduce the regen penalty in stages 2-4.

Or the aporatic game crashes and random boots from the server for no apparent reason.

I agree and will not dispute that. Doesn't change the fact that it's not even close to where it should be right now.

I'm all for immersion, but all the pretty in the world won't drown out the regular immersion breaking crashes and lag that we have at the moment.
