How they could save the Champion System.

What I imagine ZOS will do as time goes on and the gap between the 24/7 grinders and the rest of us widens day by day, is to gradually stagger how quickly you gain CP based on what rank you are compared to a sliding "average."

As the average CP of the subscriber base goes up, people with only very few points will begin to gain them at a calculated higher rate. The wider the spread, the faster the rate.

I also imagine they will institute a per-day or possibly per-week cap on earnable CP at some point.

From my perspective I just play as if the Champion Points don't exist. They are completely wasted on me because I know I'll never actually earn enough to be on par with the grinders. I've earned 2 for a total of 72 since it's implementation. As soon as that gets in the way of me playing(Example:LF 300CP lv dps for daily) I'll completely stop playing, it's that simple. Pvp has been a disaster from launch so I doubt I'll ever go back to Cyrodiil so the Champion System is less likely to affect me in that regard. But as it stands Zos has essentially wasted a lot of time and resources on a system that very few players will embrace and even fewer will get anything out of.
