Yep, my Sorc will be wearing a decent jerkin before long. Maybe dyed as well.
    Thanks for remembering @Aeradon.

@AlexDougherty‌ This is awesome, I can finally put points into my light armour and proudly use it. Thank god I just levelled it to 50 with the decent looking Covenant set.

Now EOS just please, please, please DON'T make the dyes outrageously hard and/or expensive to get! Stuff that is appearance only/vanity stuff and does nothing to affect actual game play should NOT be difficult to attain!

@MornaBaine‌ Dyes are proposed to be unlocked by achievements. Judging from how many achievements one would get from 1-50 questing alone, it's pretty easy.

@Aeradon that will probably be okay then. However, I am a really slow leveller as i like to take my time, read everything, and really experience all the content. I've been playing from launch and my main is only level 31. I hate the race to end game and what I really resent about every MMO I've ever played is that you practically HAVE to get to end game to actually be able to have a character that LOOKS the way you want it to. So I realllly hpe the "lower levels" dyes don't suck and I will be pissed as hades if I have to wait til 50 to get BLACK! lol

If you are a completionist, you're most likely gonna have more dyes than others (:

And Black IS what I want. Even if it takes VR20 I will damn well make sure I get it. Haha.

    Quick Question if anyone knows:

Do I have to research the traits for the Jerkins separately or is it a Robe or Jerkin selection dealio?

I would assume it's under light armour. Since it's labeled as Light Armour.

Dark Blue with light grey highlights will do me.
But black is very nice too.

I just checked out the PTS server and the Robes / Jerkin do share research traits, but under the creation screen -- they are different items.

Yes I know it's light armor, what I am saying is it a separate light armor item that will have to have all 8 traits researched as well as the robe having it's own 8 to research?

My heavy armour will definitely be black with gold trims and red details.

As for light armour, I will go with Purple-ish Red base colour and Light Brown fur on my Nord jerkins. Hohoho. If they have fur at the edge of 'em jerkins of course.

@Aeaeren‌ Sorry for not being clear, it will share the same Clothing/Tailoring Skill Line that you have for both Light and Medium Armours. As mentioned by @k9mouse‌ as well.

no, he was asking, if he already researched the traits for robes, will he need to re-research for the jerkins.

Light jerkins are there so the teen male population who want to play scantily-clad female Sorcs no longer have to wear Medium to do so, it serves no other useful purpose as far as I see it.

the primary reason is that people dont want to be stuck wearing dresses when using light armor. especially since the jerkins are already in game and available through the vendors

Ever seen the Altmer style jerkin that occasionally drops? closest thing to an actual gambeson I've seen in this game. My Breton knight wears one when relaxing. There is nothing skimpy about it,it's a nice beleivable, almost historic looking coat. Don't start talking about teens and skimpy armor until you actually see them. I like the option of my light armor wearers being able to wear a practical leather jerkin when dungeon delving instead of tripping over their robes every time a fight starts.

Or maybe they don't want to play a male character that looks like he is wearing a dress...
