I really want to play , I just can not justify paying $15 a month for this.

The game is a hot mess that needs at least three more months of beta to work out all the server stability/load issues as well as all the bugs.

The customer service is the worst in the industry and I am even including perfect world in that statement.

Until zenimax can get its crap together they would be complete idiots to charge a single dime for the state the game is currently in.

Not to mention offer a huge apology for the craptastic CS department that hangs up on people after 4 hours on hold, and NEVER makes call backs.

Sorry man but from a business stand point that makes far less sense than losing the smaller fraction of the user base quitting due to bugs.

The silent majority still loves the game...

Lets say ZOS only sold 1 mil copies (In actuality they sold 5 mil) and they tell all 1 mil not to pay 15 bucks for the first bill..

You are telling the company to throw away 15 million dollars that would be used to budget personnel to fix the issues, maintain the bandwidth from their ISP and further fund the game for their investors...

    Simply won't/can't happen.

We are ALL having server issues. The combat lag, the having to log out to get quests to work, the hanging while zoning, the list goes on those are all server load and client side memory leaks. but the game if you have played the game at all you know the game is a hot mess and losing subs by the thousands. I want the game to have a chance, but if after all the problems they even admit to having, if they toss a $15 bill on people on top of all this rage people are going to tell them where to stick it and leave even faster.

I'll consider myself lucky that I have not experienced these issues you speak of. Have a VR1 and 2 level 20's and the worst thing I've had to do is press escape twice to get my combat actions working again.

"All" seems to be a little excessive.
Personally, I've had little to no server issues (maybe one long load screen) on my way to VR4.
    Bugs? Yes

Are we playing the same game? How have you not been hit by one of the following: freezes, crashes, hiccups, random quest failure due to overload, rubberbanding, or the insane lag and loading screens?

All of those are stability issues in one form or another, some server-related some not. If you haven't, you're the luckiest MMO'er playing ESO at the moment.

Another argument for starting the first billing cycle on time is that it may help to curb the bot and gold seller spam problem as the Chinese farmers run out of their free game time.

Next issue to look out for is accounts getting hacked and scammed, I imagine we are going to see a big jump in that kind of activity the first day after the trial ends.

Not had any notable server issues either. OP has given three signs that he might need to step back and take a breath. First, claiming "we are ALL having server issues". A blanket statement like that is just asking for trouble when there are thousands of people apparently not affected by these issues (at least not enough to worry about it). Second, over the top language - ESO is a "hot mess"? Really? Again, see the thousands of people that are NOT having problems. Third, pulling out the "Fanboi" card. A sure sign that you know you don't have any leg to stand on seems to be to accuse anybody not having problems and not agreeing with you of being a "Fanboi". If your argument is good you don't have to start calling names whenever people actually like the game. We all have things we wish that they would fix / change, but some of us are realistic enough to know either it will be fixed if it is an actual proble

VR 2... only experienced a few bugged quests out of the hundreds I've played through. That's actually fabulous considering where it was at during Beta. It's important to note that this type of server setup is something new and that there will be unexpected and complex issues. Any individual who has played an MMO at launch can attest to the types of problems that occur. Zenimax has actually done quite a good job at it, so far. My hope is that they take further actions to rectify the spam/bot issues in the next patches (like adding a filter so I can block all mails that come in from players, unless I flag them as trusted). Sick of gold spammers.

Hmm, the are a lot of bots in the starter zone. Maybe they are the 'silent majority' who 'loves' this game? They are certainly having their way with it.

That said, perhaps the guy who claims a 'silent majority loves this game' could provide some evidence? Or does he just 'feel it in his heart'?

Has nothing to do with the Devs or anyone in the game development process. The games business decisions are in the hands of the bean counters now.

There is no chance of a free month or not starting subscriptions.

It's done. Nothing anyone says in a game forum will change that.
The number one rule of online gaming is now and has always been, Never play on Patch Day.

The only thing I've managed to get hit by would be an occasional two minute loading screen, but that's mostly because my computer is crappy :p
I haven't had a single problem server wise, not even a random disconnect really, and I've run into about 4-5 bugged quests that were easily completed through relogging a few times and I'm VR3 in VR4 content.

Shortly, No, not everyone are having these problems.

With game fixes and patches coming out every few days to a week, I would say things are going in right direction.

Not charging money for services provided is somewhat childish to expect.
"...they would be complete idiots to charge a single dime for the state the game is currently in. "
From business point of view, they would be complete idiots not to charge people.

It would seem you have an issue with the game, a ticket that did not get attention after a few days ? May I sufest making a polite post here, explaining you`r situation and asking for assistance ? ZOS staff has been more then helpful on many occasions with people posting their problems here.

Sadly tickets with issues tend to be lost in a flood of support tickets. So forum post might help.

And before you make a snarly remark saying - I should have to post on forums to get assistance, I should get it by default, that is very true. And you will get support, when ticket comes to a staff member able to help you.

You're right. They don't yet, because they are still in the starter areas not beating their heads against the wall. Give them a little time. There's a reason we're seeing more and more outrage spilling into the forums. (People are starting to get out of the starter areas and experience the really crazy bugs)

Really? Thanks for speaking out for the majority. Next time there is a vote on a server wide spokesperson for the player base let me know, I'll make sure I don't miss it.

Every game has players who love / hate the game. Show me a game forum where there 0 complaints. If there was such a game there wouldn't be any need for new ones right?

Thanks for your nomination. No seriously. The majority of players are in the lowbie areas. That isn't up for debate. That doesn't mean that every person who isn't on the forums complaining is in the lowbie areas. I'm sure there are people who are content with giving ZOS all the time in the world to fix the bugs and bots.

Yes. Every game has players who love/hate the game.
Yes. There is no game forum where there are 0 complaints. (Actually, there probably are a couple, but I'm not going to waste time searching)

New games don't come out from a need to address flaws in existing games. They come out because the game creators want to make money.

    OP what level are you?

Because if you are anything above 0 then they are rightfully billing you because you have played the game.

You may have hit bumps in the road but you sure as heck have gotten $15 worth of gameplay.

So you are saying everyone who lost game time due to overly aggressive banning from GM's and moderators should just bite the bullet? Id call that poor customer service.
