Molag Bal Statue from Collector's Edition - Multiple Issues.

So there is no proper place to put this, but it needs to be said and I'm sure I'm not alone.

When you pay so much for a collector's edition, one that comes with a figurine, no doubt you expect -quality- from said item.

Molag Bal arrived in three parts - Body, tail and base.
  • Molag Bal's assembly was poor at best. His right leg/hip were not joined properly with the body, nor was the back butt-flap.
  • The hole/wedge in which to place the tail was not properly finished. You have to force/jam the tail in, and it doesn't insert properly, so it falls out upon occasion.
  • The holes in the feet weren't fully drilled properly, nor was it sanded down. They were filled with curls and shavings of plastic, clogging them up, making it impossible to attach the base without having to FILE them down.

Very poor quality, and very shoddy craftsmanship.

    On mine, the right leg/hip as well as the back "butt-flap" look fine to me. I also didn't have an issue with the holes in the feet. I certainly didn't have to file them down.

    However, I absolutely agree that something was wrong with the tail. I really had to force that thing in and I'm still not convinced it's all the way in. It is sturdy enough now, though, that I don't think it's going to fall off anytime soon.

    Maybe read the forums a little more....

    When I tried using the search function, I kept getting error codes. Otherwise, I'd not have started my own thread. (I also seemed to have further problems then others did.) Oh well, still the same, the statue was very sub-par. :(

    A team of professionals is already looking into the issue and they'll release a patch to fix the statue bug soon.

    I managed to get his feet on just fine although there were a bunch of shavings I had to dig out of the holes but that's just about the only thing that worked for me with my statue.

    There are excess swatches of gritty plastic that are melted onto the surface of the statue in several places, most noticeably on the middle talons of both feet and the back of one leg.

    There is a large patch of excess lacquer that is flaking.

    And like the OP, the tail socket is not aligned properly making it impossible to actually attach.

    I could go on about the excess bits of plastic that did get painted over because the molding process is shoddy but for now I'll leave it at the above. This is kind of ridiculous and needs to be addressed. I wouldn't have purchased the imperial edition if I knew I'd be receiving something that looked and was the quality of a china town knock off.

    Mine is broken. I noticed that the package behind the mace is broken through as well. Which leads me to say it was NOT the carriers fault but due to packaging. Broken Molag Bal

    ^ Wow, that sucks for the 2 of you. If you bought it from GameStop like me, go back and ask if they have any extra IE's in stock you could exchange Bol for.

    My local GS had 8 extra IE's in stock on top of the preorders, and the manager said all the other local GS's received extra stock as well.

    Ouch. I feel for you on that one. Definitely take that up with ZOS or your retailer if they're willing to do an exchange.

    I had to remove the "burr" from the leg holes other than the base being a tight fit it went together fine and I have to say it looks great, really happy with it:)

    This, This was exactly my case aswell.
    Same for me as well, the mace on the statue was broken just below the hand. I'd already arranged a return and replacement with the retailer before the post by ZOS_GinaBruno advising to email customerservice@gamingheads.com in another thread. Just have to wait for my return to arrive back with the retailer before they'll send the replacement though. So no Imperial Edition for me until late next week = no codes to redeem on my account. Not really bothered about that though, seeing some of the threads popping up in these forums I think I'm going to be glad to wait for a week or so to allow Zenimax to start working on patches to fix the bugs and errors being reported!

    Mine was missing the right horn, I have check all around the box, the area I opened it for over an hour and Im positive it was not in there, it fits the base ok.. but the socket stands out

    The tail doesn't fit in at all for mine. If you look at it, you can see there's not enough space(the hole in the based is filled in). Maybe superglue will do the trick?

    The DVD box was jammed shut and distorted. I had to pry it open and wound up slicing my finger in the process(the metal is sharp).

    Wish they had someone doing QC on this...

    Mine has a broken mace. When I tried to super glue it, the plastic began to melt. ABS plastic + super glue = a bad combination.

    I'm not really like "angry gamer pissed", but I am very disappointed. I've contacted Gamingheads using the email provided by Zenimax, and using their direct contact form on their website.

    I really hope they'll honor my purchase and send a replacement.

    The art book on the other hand... /drool.

    My mace was broken as well. It looks like it's a common problem. Even down to the crappy holes that were drilled out with the shavings left in! On top of it all I never received my mudcrab!!

    I feel absolutely patronised to bits, I've been an avid collector of Warhammer miniatures for the past 18 years. I know how to put something together and if it wont fit.

    My model does not fit using the method described, the holes are not the correct size, the legs are much closer together and have less give than those shown in this video.
    As a result I will be returning my copy to GAME.co.uk and requesting a full refund of my £90 ($150) what a total joke.

    I wish Zenimax would take some responsibility instead of playing pass the buck!

    Lol yeah I did what they said in the video regarding flexing the legs.. only problem is he raised leg came apart at the knee.. the legs, aren't solid one piece, there's a join around the knee areas. So be carefull 'flexing' them otherwise it's time to get the glue out!

    I've got back in touch with my retailer in hope of a replacement as due to UK/EU laws they hold accountability for supplying an adequate product.


    Dear Sir/Madam,


    Further to my conversation with your support team on the 4/4/14. I have since been given the run around by Zenimax Online Studios and another company whom they blame for the fault called Gamer Heads with regards to obtaining a replacement or a fix for my incorrectly moulded Molag Bal statue included as part of my Elder Scrolls Online PC Imperial Collectors Edition.

    Neither party are willing to take responsibility for this fault or to provide an amicable solution to fixing it, instead they wish to present me with a video informing me that I'm assembling my model incorrectly (I assure you as someone who has collected Warhammer miniatures for over 18 years I certainly am not) in a rather patronising manor in what I can only describe as a draconian attempt at customer service in stead of holding their hands up admitting their mistake and correcting it. The model simply wont assemble or fit onto the statue base provided, which I'm sure you'll be able to see for yourselves upon return of the item and from trawling the internet I don't believe I am the only customer with a poor quality product.

    Unfortunately as a result this leaves me in the situation of having to contact yourselves for a refund/replacement (if available and with a correctly moulded statue) this should not have been the case as the fault is certainly not with yourselves or the high class service you always deliver. But due to consumer laws and the DSR act I am forced to raise my complaint with yourselves while the board room fat cats at Zenimax and Gamer Heads get fatter.

    I look forward to your response and thank you for your time.

    Just wow. Someone here needs to step up instead of passing the buck. Good to know that superglue damaged the plastic. What type/brand was it?
