Pre-Paid Cards, please.

I would like to see PPC for this game, and get rid of demanding to hold my data on record. I don't have a bank/credit card account, and prefer to maintain my game time by purchasing multiple game cards and entering them.

Please include prepaid cards without forcing credit card/bank account.

I pre-ordered ESO with the expectation that Pre-paid cards would be issued for the game... I'm not even sure if I'm going to keep playing tonight if the account system is using credit cards only, and is glitching so badly in the process.

I don't want to use a credit card to play ESO.

I don't have a credit card. They are just bad news, one small slip-up, and BOOM catastrophe. Even worse with debit cards. Just not good. Likewise, there is no credit card with pro-consumer policies.

I don't have a bank account. In my city, there are two banks, both with unreasonable direct deposit rates, and other charges.

The only real way for me is to have prepaid cards. They should be purchasable from this website for best experience. Going over Steam with prepaid cards would also probably work for a lot of people.

Get a Prepaid Card from Retail or an online store. You don't need a Credit Card.
    I don't see your problem.

From where? I've found a couple sketchy sites that claim to have timecards, but none of the major retailers have any in stock.

As of right now, there are no Prepaid time cards anywhere. I would greatly appreciate it if Zenimax were to simply add a "buy 30 days" option to their online store.

At the very least, let me have my 30 free days and don't lock me out of those because I haven't been able to set up my subscription plan, because there are no prepaid time cards yet.

"Buy 30 days" option would be great.

The whole renewing billing feels like a form of bondage, which I don't like - in the same odd way, "Buy 30 days" gives me a feeling of liberty.

Your bank charges you to direct deposit? Not even Bank of America does that....

I actually really like this idea. While I don't personally mind the subscription, an option where I can just pay once and not have to worry about cancelling my subscription if I have to miss a month due to unforeseen expenses would be nice to have. I'd also like to see them offer digital game time cards through some of the more popular e-tailers.

There are pre-paid cards but there is no info released from ZoS. Perhaps ZoS will have an article showing off the pre-pard cards tomorrow, when it officially launches. I really hope they will sell pre-paid cards at Wal-mart.

Here in Switzerland there are Game Time Card available in any Video Game Store. I simply bought mine myself in one.
As far as i know, Amazon sells them too.

They will almost certainly be for sale here in the US soon. The game just launched, i'm sure they just haven't been shipped to stores yet.

"We understand that there are gamers out there who might be skeptical about providing credit/debit card information. There are also gamers who might be too young to have a credit/debit card which is why time cards will come in handy.
The time cards are priced at $29.99 each and will offer gamers 60-day access to the game. This is pretty much the same if gamers were to pay a monthly subscription, although this means that gamers will have to run out and buy a new card if it runs out."

I assume you will start seeing them in stores within the next week or 2. To be sure, contact CS and ask them.

So i called every GameStop, Target, WalMart, and BestBuy in my city and they all have the copy of the game, but have not heard of Game Time Cards nor do they know if they are receiving any in the near future. I find it hard to believe you didnt anticipate people not being able to buy a subscription with a credit card or online for that matter. There are people who still prefer to use cash for buying things. I would love the option to buy Game Time Cards at my local gamestop so i dont have to pay online or set up a subscription. Devs please answer this thread.

Hey folks, I'm actually employed at a GameStop in New York. I just tried to get a code printed on a receipt for a $29.99 2-month prepaid subscription, but it's being shown as unreleased. Not sure exactly why, but it's release date isn't until the 28th.

But stil is very strange that is said include 30 days of playtime and then you need to buy first extra playtime before you can go on. I spend a lot of money without prior notice of this. It really sucks.

With my userid being handed out in game, I do not want to put my credit card info in any of the systems here. If they think that idea was worth the risk vs reward, I can only assume other security processes were handled with the same judgement.

So ya, a time card I can buy from a shop that takes security to a level I feel confident in would be awesome!

In the US and same here (about wanting gametime cards for security purposes and also about no retailers having them). I made a few posts about this, too, in the main Announcement about funds being charged to credit cards. At the GameStop closest to me, the clerk couldn't find the ESO gametime card in either the store or system inventory. They just aren't released yet.

My biggest aggravation is that the clock is ticking on our free 30 days. By the time the gametime cards come out, many of us will have lost weeks of game play and the promotional, "free" 30 days.

If anyone is sweating about losing the preorder bonuses due to not being able to activate the game, however, this is an encouraging email thread from my conversations with support:
Response By Email (Hayden) (04/05/2014 11:35 PM)

    Greetings,

Thank you for the response. As you wait for Game Time Cards to be available your entitlements should not expire because you have not yet activated your game code. Once you activate your explorers pack your items will be sent to your in game mail. There is no delay between the moment the mail is sent and the moment it is received. Mails in The Elder Scrolls Online are account wide which means that players will be able to retrieve the content of their mail box from any character on their account, regardless of their faction. The Inbox mails will expire 30 days after they were received. Unopened mails containing items will be returned to the senders after a few days. There is no maximum number of Inbox mails, however the mail box will reject mails from other players if 74 or more messages are stored - system mails will never be rejected. It is of course possible to delete mails by highlighting them and pressing [X].

We hope this has helped. If you have any other question or concerns please feel free to respond with them.

You can find more information about The Elder Scrolls Online on our website and social channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Google+).

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

This only partially solves my issue. As my follow-up support ticket indicated, I want to use a Gametime Card to avoid additional exposure to my credit card (it was part of the Target breach). There are no Gametime Cards available at retailers near me -- I have driven all over to BestBuys and GameStops.

Since I don't have a Gametime Card yet, I can't progress through the subscription page to get to the point where I can enter my Explorer's Pack code. If I cannot enter my Explorer's Pack code until I receive a Gametime Card sometime after the Early Access grace period concludes, will I lose access to my Explorer's Pack bonuses? Are these only valid during the Early Access period, or will they be redeemable at any point in the future, since I am in possession of a physical copy with a physical, printed code?

Greatly appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Response By Email (Albert) (04/04/2014 11:43 PM)

    Greetings dysphorya,

Thank you for contacting the Elder Scrolls Online team. If you are unable to enter the codes that came with your retail copy make sure you have setup the billing & subscription method first. After this has been done you will be able to redeem your codes.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

I received my physical copy of the Standard Edition today, and I am attempting to redeem my Explorer's Pack Code from the package. When I enter it into my account through the "Redeem Code" function, I get an error that the code "Requires Elder Scrolls Online." I already have ESO installed -- I updated my beta install and have been playing all throughout early access after redeeming my Early Access Code. Am I doing something wrong?

right now this looks like something juicy for a mass litigation of fraud. the bottom line - we already paid for 30 days. EVERY other game automatically credits an account 30 days game time when buying their initial title. These people know their product is shady - us hardcore players don't mind that. but to interrupt service and to force another 15$ out of players is criminal. especially when you consider not as many people bought the imperial edition as they'd hoped - so that may be thy 'why' there is something so ridiculous going on. anyone know a lawyer interested in this niche of law? ;)

I'm so glad you replied on this thread, because I've gotten a correction on what I posted above. (I don't think I would have found this thread otherwise to post my update.)

The clock doesn't start ticking until you've redeemed your game registration code and selected a subscription plan. So for folks like myself waiting on a gametime card, as long as we haven't otherwise activated our copies, we just miss out on playing for a bit. (The Early Access Code doesn't count toward the 30 days, as I originally thought.)

That said, if anybody completed game registration and selected a subscription plan with a credit card, then cancelled that subscription to switch to a gametime card, the clock doesn't pause. It was started with the first subscription selection and will continue counting down the 30 free days until the subscription is reactivated with the gametime card.

Still waiting on my phone call from CS after filling out the form, but two days of them bouncing my emails around is not giving me hope.

All I want is an access code for 0-day time to register and use the included 30 days, or they could give us 30 day codes and then take them away immediately.

They really just need to drop this for the first month and let us just enter our codes and play our free month. Then after 30 days we are supposed to get free anyway, if we do not set up a payment option stop access. Only sensible option since they foolishly didnt have the game time cards out in advance or at least same day as release. Lack of planing on your part to have the payment options better sorted out before launch should not be a punishment for us.

You can buy Pre-Paid Visa cards from the Post Office, In my town it's about $5 + whatever charge you want to put on it, so say you want $50 on it the initial purchase will be $55 and then every recharge after is just however much you want to put on it.

Why should I have to shell out additional money for a prepaid visa card, in addition to also being hit with additional service fees from Visa to use the card for any and all transactions made?

ZOS should have had their stuff together and had the Game Time Cards in retail stores a month ago so people who wanted to use them as preferred sub methods could have purchased them ahead of time and had them on hand.
Far too many characters to list any more.

I actually work at GameStop here on the East Coast, so I know a little about these time cards. We have not received them yet but they are in our systems. The last time I checked they were street dated for 4/28/14 I believe. Trust me guys I've been looking for them as well. I don't believe they show up on the GameStop web site but they show up on our reserve lists (even though they can't be reserved). For 60 Days I believe it's $29.99.

I hope this at least gives some of you hope, when I find out more I'll pop on again.
