TBH what bugs me most about veteran ranks is not their existence, but their number. 14... Why not 15, 10 or 20? 14 just feels wrong, incomplete , like there should be more coming.
We had a nice round number at launch...TBH what bugs me most about veteran ranks is not their existence, but their number. 14... Why not 15, 10 or 20? 14 just feels wrong, incomplete , like there should be more coming.
About the (repeated) confirmation of no new content being planned for the next year or so: I guess the positive side of the change to b2p is that we won't be paying subscription fees to do nothing but feed horses, research traits and maybe do some writs for that time.

You should be thankful they aren't removing veteran ranks. You think 1.6 is a big change? Removing veteran ranks would be even more of a monumental challenge. Everything about ESO would have to change. Every weapon set, every jewelry set, every armor set, all quest rewards, all food, all drinks, all potions, everything would have to be redone and balanced. I'm sure ZOS knows this and that's why it's going to be a long time before that happens, if ever.
Generally, I have been optimistic about the direction and development of ESO, but it seems like ZOS has dealt a real slap in the face to PC and MAC users.
PC and MAC users have essentially been used to forge the way for a console launch.
It is horrible from my perspective as a fan of TES and ESO that content, and game systems can not be developed and that the potential of the game cannot be realized because now it seems like the console version and the PC/MAC version are tied together and frankly the console version will shackle a lot of the potential that could be realized on PC or MAC.
My feeling is that the development team has been duped by some marketing or business exec in the company and now their hands are being tied. I met Paul Sage and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy who was very concerned about producing a fun game.
Discussions have been going on since the beginning of buzz about this game about whether the game development will be slowed down by being attached to a console and it seems like the answer is YES.

I'm an EP player, because I really, really, really give a crap about saving stupid Emeric's stupid life for the first or third time.
By the way, since I'm on my soapbox, DC quests are actually really good (no, I don't want to do them for a second or third time...), but Hallin's Stand and the last quest in Cadwell's Silver involved Septima / Emeric is so poorly thought-out it flows so frustratingly. "Hrrr, hrr b4 u go nto my camber u need 2 find sum srolls and put them in oRder n front of mee!11" "Hrr, hrr u need to match kolors b4 i giv u my blesing"
