So Empty!

As I traverse Tamriel I have come upon many areas that seem a bit too sparse and sometimes they are completely empty. While this isn't a huge deal and, like with so many other things, there are more pressing matters to attend to, I think it would be nice to see these areas filled in with a bit more clutter.

It doesn't have to be a huge undertaking. Maybe give each content designer the task of adding clutter to one area each month. They could spend a few hours on it throughout the month and it wouldn't be a burden. Eventually we would start to see these areas fill up and these once lifeless, empty areas can become a rich part of their respective cities.

So empty...


This ship didn't even have a Helm! How do they get anywhere?

a couple more painfully empty spaces I've found:





The second one there is of a windmill. It was an awesome structure. There are actually two NPCs around the other side... one is sitting directly on the deck.

All those places are useless, that's why no one there, expect 1 NPC, what else did you mention? maybe talking sad potato?

And people complain that there is no solo content on eso, just take a look at those pictures and you will see alot of solo content!

lol. no. I'm not saying there needs to be people. I'm asking for "clutter". Tables, barrels, chairs, etc.

I totally forgot about the /sitchair emote. now if only we had a campfire emote...those empty plots could be rp havens XD maybe even a tent emote... one can dream!

Not everywhere has to have something in, there are more than a few cities around the world with a vast population yet has huge amount of empty space including abandoned neighbourhoods. They live in a war zone, people die and leave stuff behind which eventually get's looted.

If there is a contextual reason for the area to be empty, that's cool... but if it's a thriving city... it just seems out of place.

Take a wander around Berlin, I believe there is an entire city/town with airport in Spain that is totally empty, a search for abandoned neighbourhoods gives some quite startling results. I agree it does seem out of place but it happens. Nirn is just a world (admittedly fantasy) like any other world.

Forgot to add, it might be that I'm part of the problem, Got to get that sell 1 million gold worth of stolen property to the fence achievement some how

lol. You do bring up an interesting point @stewart.leslie76b16_ESO. That just because there's a space doesn't mean it would be filled with items. If that were the case for most of these spaces then I think I would have to back down on my little rant about the empty space.

Heck, the very first picture I posted could fall into this category. One could very reasonably assume that the people who live and work here simply took in the tables and chairs because it is cold...


And then I get to the ship without a Helm


Some areas might be reasonably sparse but some empty spaces really should be addressed.

Bigger problems do not erase the mundane, and people's willingness or need to throw light on it, as multiple smaller issues have a cumulative effect on the general atmosphere as well.
