This has GOT to be a bad joke, Zenimax!!!
Just created an alt, an Imperial dragonknight. Took him through the starter sequence, and then rage deleted him after five - FIVE - deaths to the bonelord boss. Seriously, a DRAGONKNIGHT can't defeat this boss now!!! Remember, at this stage you are level two, and do not have much in the way of weapons and armour - it is highly likely, if you're not of the kind that stops and opens EVERY chest, that you'll be doing this fight in just prisoner's rags and the Cast Off weapon(s). The Prophet is next to useless now, two-three straight hits from the bonelord does more damage than the Prophet can heal, and he doesn't tank at all! Either seriously improve the effectiveness of the Prophet's healing to be on par with the healing NPC healers do (i.e. pretty much instant 100% health), or do some serious changes to the final boss, otherwise it is highly likely that a lot of fresh players will quit before even having gotten properly into the game!!

(As usual, troll comments will be reported to the mods).

I think, elastic rubber band will improve the situation.

did you block his strong attacks (yellow/white sparkle) and get out fo his conal front AoE (red triangle on floor)?

I recently did this again too, and when avoiding the bosses heavy hitters, I did never fall below 80% health bevor the prophet kindly topped me up again...

I will check that out, but I think you might be right. My NBs with the strife self heal at level 3 or 4 has difficulty so I was wondering about this.

I just did roughly the same thing: Created an Imperial Dragonknight and played through the tutorial. I managed to kill the Child of Bones on my first attempt. It was a tough fight, for sure, but it wasn't an "impossible" fight. I was level 3 when I got there. I used an iron maul (2H) and had 4 pieces armor, of which 2 were heavy.

#1: How you can reach the Child of Bones without reaching level 3 is beyond me. Were there lots of other players whacking feral soulshriven and flame atronachs when you reached the large "river cave"?

#2: You don't have to "stop and open EVERY chest", in order to find a few pieces of armor. Find and open two or three CHESTS (not urns, barrels, trunks and/or crates) and you'll find at least one or two pieces of armor and possibly a better weapon.

#3: Kill a handful feral soulshriven, and an atronach or two, and you'll find even more useful gear. That will also get you to level 3 even before you talk to Cadwell.

#4: You have to stay out of at least more than half of the boss's front aoe:s to survive. (Face-tanking bosses is very dificult, if not impossible, even for a well geared, high level DK. It requires the aid of an equally well geared, high level healing templar, in my opnion.)

#5: I think the risk of new players rushing through the tutorial, like you did, is rather small. Did you rush through the the tutorial first time around? Or were you a bit intrigued and curious about what you might find?

Too summarize: You're not supposed to rush through the tutorial. If you can't be arsed to explore and scavange gear the second time around, you should just skip it.

Kite, choose beginning skill carefully and weapon as well. Yeah it's a challenge, but easily doable. Even easier than NB.

AngryNord is talking about fresh players, new to TESO, maybe new to MMORPG at all. And those newbies must not die several times during tutorial. AngryNord is right to blame this.
All the hints from the other writers here are correct and are meant very kind. But a newbie should not have to read insider tips to get through the tutorial!

Man sollte sagen, was man meint. Wenn man nicht sagt, was man meint, dann meint man nicht, was man sagt.
You should say what you are meaning. If you don't say what you are meaning, you don't mean what you are saying.

When it tells you to explore your cell, very beginning, grab the couple pieces of food and use them as you progress through the tutorial also.
