"AwesomiumProcess.exe" is a program starting from the game TESO client folder.

    To harass and annoy.

More seriously, not sure - it's not an uncommon process associated with launchers like the one ESO uses but it either doesn't start up with the launcher or bugs out every so often. every time I notice big dips in frames where my game shouldn't, I check task manager and sure enough, Awesomemium is running.
    - Killing the process has no negative effect on the game btw.

It's a library of C++ to HTML functions that the launcher (often fails to) use to get the news etc.

But having looked at the developer of the tools website, it left me seriously concerned about it suitability for use by anyone, as the website was posting data to refresh itself every few seconds, & looked more like a phishing site than a professional company...

Also where you end up if you use the developers name, from the .exes properties :)

    Really professional, isn't it :)

    Hi guys,

The process called "AwesomiumProcess.exe" that runs whenever you play The Elder Scrolls Online is responsible for the in-game web browser. It should be permitted to run in the background whenever you are in game.

The only web browser accessible to player characters is hidden behind a door in the basement of the Mages' Guild in... I forget the name of the city, but the door is locked and the key must be acquired by taking an unmarked quest from... sorry, I forget the name of the NPC, but anyway, that's how you do it. And you need a steady supply of soul gems to power it, because it's a Dwemer device. Beware also that there are not many servers in the Tamrielic Internet. It's a mostly defunct network of Dwemer information hubs. Rumors of crosslinks to selected planes of Oblivion and Aetherius seem to be false. There's not much to see, really. Except of course for that hilarious server with... well, you should see for yourself, really.
