Current PvP Issues after 1.3.3 Patch (Updated for 1.3.4)

1. AOE caps still resulting in Mindless Zerg Balling in the game completely dumbing down any skill involved in PvP.

2. Forward Camps being more for teleporting people then an actual Rez spot. This is a huge problem with the game currently as it completely kills any need to hold Supply Lines or kill people moving between the Fights. It also makes Death completely penalty free in the game.

3. Bows basically instant killing people, Not sure if its just the Damage not updating or It just doesn't calculate till all at once?

4. Soul Tether/Magma Armor doing a crap ton of damage, with Soul Tether being really over the top right now. This was reported on PTS multiple times.....

5. Keep Walls basically being nothing more then wet paper tissue in this game. This goes hand in hand with the Forward Camp Issue, If you fix one without the other you make the game unplayable on a massive scale. If you fix Forward Camps for example there is no way you'll be able to make it to a keep in time before the walls are down, They get brought down in under a minute.... That is completely unacceptable. Doors should be the primary way to get into a Keep, and the Walls themselves should be a secondary option if the Door is to heavily defended. There is basically zero need for something like a Ram right now because of this issue. This also means taking any of the Supply Camps around the keep completely pointless as you'll risk warning the people you're able to have the walls down by doing that.

6. Unbreakable Stuns, This is still an issue...I've not seen it with Invasion (Shield Charge) and Root after the patch, but i'm still noticing it with Ambush and Concealed Blade combo if they do it from stealth. I've had multiple times were i'm at full stamina spamming the break free key and nothing happens. I'm not sure if other abilities are doing it but if Ambush and Concealed blade still are i imagine other abilities are as well.

7. The lack of a Rez penalty in this game. This was a problem with Guild Wars 2 as well, but its also a Problem in this game. Currently Rezzing is doing nothing more then giving me all my Mana/Stamina Back. That's not much of a Penalty.

8. Being in combat for hellish long periods. I get if i'm in combat near someone if i'm fighting them, But if i've not hit them for say 15 seconds..I shouldn't be in combat with them..I shouldn't be in combat for bloody 3-4 minutes at a time either.

9. Crashing, Currently everyone I know is crashing at least once an Hour, not sure whats causing it..But i've had guildies basically come out and say that right after I crash, they will... and sure enough they do within a minute of it happening to me.

10. Weapon Swapping getting weird animations where i have the wrong weapon equipped on the wrong skill load out.

11. Guesting in general, The way its currently setup is pretty cruddy, It leads to the crap you see right now where you have servers just dominated by 1 faction so they can get their keep bonuses and such, then they Guest over to the other server they really play on. If you guest to a server, You shouldn't get the bonuses from your server on that server. That completely defeats the point of being loyal to a server.

12. Status Effects are currently not going off for Melee Weapons/Bows/Restro Staff. I could get them to proc with Destro buff nothing else will proc them. This makes fights with multiple healers a huge pain in the ass as there are very few healing debuffs in this game outside of the disease proc on weapons (that currently don't work)


Those are the major issues I'm seeing still after the patch.

    12. Being able to travel to a player in a different campaign (one that is neither your home nor your guest campaign).
    13. PvP buffs being applied outside of Cyrodiil. This encourages Guilds that run Trials (for whatever reason) to keep a map painted red, blue, or yellow. If PvE content needs to be rebalanced because of this so be it.

    Side note: I don't think guesting needs to be changed so that you don't keep your home campaign buffs while guesting. I just think it needs to go. I joined Bow of Shadows knowing it was going to be a lower pop campaign, but I hoped it would be a campaign with small groups, skilled players, good strategy, and good competition. Too bad it is completely red and used as a buff campaign.

    Just on the bows #3. I was told by a killer that his build was "Optimised" when he hit me for 1865dmg. Just thought I'd share the thinking out there.

    how about weapons being able to block as well as a shield for some reason? not really anything to do with the patch, but I wanted to throw it out

    CC immunity is not granting immunity to roots.

    I honestly don't believe that CC immunity is intended to grant root immunity, since roots have never been considered a "true" CC in this game, but there has been a lot of discussion about this matter.

    It would be really nice to have a dev weigh in on whether this is intended or not.

    The bow thing is definately a gimmicky thing + damage failing to update properly.
    My character does like 5-10% more damage with her bow than she did before the patch and that is basically because her weapon power is higher. I dont ever see me doing (or receiving) the massive hits that other people are experiencing. I am seeing the failure to update the damage though, it is mostly the bow but sometimes it happens to other weapons as well.
    I was tending a siege weapon and I could hear the sound of me being ganked but my health didnt move at all while it went on.

    EDIT: might want to add to the ultimates doing too much damage: bat swarm.

    Full weapon dmg build, top end legendary bow, fully specced skills, big stamina pile, stealthed, buffed, I don't see why anyone thinks these aren't expected damage ranges of 1500+ easy.

    I am seeing my damage increase from weak to normal (and sometimes very high) as I play until I am about 20 mins in. It is almost as if my character needs to warm up. When I first enter Cyrodiil my lethal shots are only hitting for like 500 when criting, it does not matter if I have marked or not. Then after about 20 mins they are hitting like normal.

    This is the same with light attacks and heavy attacks.

    Ya I have seen the posts, the most I have done today was 1,800+ which is admittedly very high. However 500 damage on a Lethal shot crit is way too low and it is happening consistently each time I enter Cyrodiil, but then goes back to normal after a bit.

    Add werewolf pack leader morph once again not working. You hit the key, the sound effects play and the ultimate is consumed, and then...nothing.

    Oh except for becoming stuck in a permanent slow walk you have to relog to get out of. Happened twice to me tonight before I once again gave up on werewolfing out and swapped my flawless dawnbreaker back in.

    Bows aren't doing wild damage, bow skills don't seem to be updating the HP bars of the target and often animation appears to be missing so they can't even tell they got shot at. Then if they only take bow related damage they will suddenly die and it looks like a 1 shot but really it could have been multiple hits.

    I've also seen Meteor and it's morphs do slightly under 3k.

    People have got bats to do 540 damage on a tick.

    OP has a good summary of the most glaring issues in Cyrodiil - the ones caused by bugs as well as the ones caused "by design"

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler , your team should take a good look at the OPs list, IMHO

    Because let's say veteran 1 player has around 2k health? Does 1,5k dmg sounds normal to you if you deal 75% of player's HP pool? It is almost instant kill you know...

    It's not just bows that are instantly killing people, sometimes the health bar just doesn't show up, or it shows the wrong information... It said I had 2.7k health, walked off the top of sejuanas, add-on registers that I lost 2.3k health and... I died...

    This is happening way too much, ZOS deal with it you morons.

    I've also noticed that I'll not be able to fire another Lethal Arrow at someone, even though they have full health, then I'll know they're about to drop dead... and sure enough they do.

    However, what I am noticing is: if I do not do enough damage to someone to kill them... none of the bow damage will count.

    I hit someone 3 times with Lethal Arrow, while they were marked nonetheless, and when I died before them... I watched their health bar stay at full. I watched for over a minute.


    Here's another giant issue I've been witnessing since Patch 1.3... sometimes, enemy players just don't take any damage. None.

    I witnessed one guy, a vamp no less, stand in my oil for 3 pours before he noticed me and killed me. He took NO damage.

    Another stood in my Soul Tether and beat on me until I died... even though I was hitting him a ton... he still took zero damage. Then I watched him charge off and attack more players...

    ..and this isn't some kind of damage lag either, which is part of but not all of the current bow problem, this is players taking ZERO damage from anybody... even though they are often facing multiple foes... and still walking away undamaged...

    ..Nor is it being applied later, as you would imagine a lag delay would... it's not applying at all.


    That's 2 massive issues.

    1) Extreme damage lag for certain weapons.
    2) Players not taking damage at all.

    I get what you're saying.... Generally shield does it better, I don't really have a problem with it because its game...and game mechanics come first before reality in a video game.

    My list of pressing issues in PvP:

    1. FPS drops still not fully fixed. Many players (me included) have still 20 to 30 percent LESS fps than before patch 1.2.3, which implemented those fps drops.
    2. Game crashes every 20 to 120 minutes. It seems to happen more frequently in PvP than in PvE.
    3. Ability lags are killing the PvP.
    4. Gameplay in PvP is dumbed down by three things: First, there are to much aoe abilities in this game. Second, crowd control abilities always do (a lot) of damage too. Third, only 5+1 abilities on the bar. Those three points lead to a gameplay in PvP where people only spam one or two abilities and on accasion use a third ability. There is no sophisticated or complex gameplay in PvP. And a lot of players prefer using a siege weapon instead of their own abilities. Using siege weapons should be an extra option during sieges, not a complete substitution of other abilities.
    5. Bows really seem to kill enemies instant. Today I had three different situations in which I was killed by an archer. In all those situations there was no lag at all, one second my char was fine, the next second it was dead on the ground and the death recap showed 4 or 5 hits by a archer. I was not hit by other players, only by one archer.
    6. Forward camps are abused as means of tramsportation through Cyrodiil.
    7. 'infight' status often stays to long, sometimes for 2 to 3 minutes, with the consequence of not being able to stealth or to mount.
    8. Postern doors still often not working.

    Subscription cancelled due to the following facts:

    - Zenimax implements more bugs from patch to patch
    - Zenimax does not care about the increasing instability of the game. People have more and more crashes Fix of memory bug decreased number of crashes considerably
    - Zenimax has still not fully fixed the fps drops they (!) implemented with patch1.2.3
    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP
    - Zenimax gives more attention to unnecassary 'content' like dyes for armors than fixing issues
    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns
    - Support is ineffective and does not even speak in a way one can linguistically understand
