Mob NPCs stacking on each other (enough with it!)

I'm seriously sick of this crap. Since the last patch when you attack 3 enemy NPCs stack on each other making it impossible to target the one you started attacking and trying to finish off. I end up using another ability when trying to finish off the mob when peckerhead mob 2 stands ON TOP of the mob I was trying to kill off.

WHY are enemy NPCs not following the collision system we players are forced to follow? This is horse crap and needs addressed. Keep your RP-Collision enforced, fine who cares - but the damn enemy mobs need to follow the same rule with a combat system such as this one.
  • Point blank: Enemy NPCs need their collision buffer zones fixed in a combat system like this.
You guys chose to make this your combat system (non targeting system) so please look into this so players can actually fight the mob they're trying to kill in the process.

Hey your RPers fans wanted real immersion crammed into the game. Well here's some immersion: enemies cannot stack inside themselves in a real-world situation. (don't read into that, RPers, I love the way the game looks so calm your nerves)

(No, your in-game TAB system does nothing)

At least 90% of my characters deaths are due to these horrible garbage issues such as the one I just mentioned (or my abilities simply just don't work being a Nightblade - love how that issue is still around). If I'm going to die in a game I would like it to be MY fault for a change.

I will comment on this.....lol I totally agree with you. Been there and feel your pain. For a lot of us that use a lot of aoe to take down these mobs are just flat out screw. single target does not cut it in VR zones, especially for my nightblade. The spacing of these mobs are really needing some change in my opinion or reduce the amount of mobs in some areas. They are stacked way too close together. I really hate the collision system especially now that these npc's are so strong. Nothing worse than getting stuck in between wagon handles and can't roll or jump out of them, but npc God Mode basher or two hander can just run right through it, stun me while the archer volleys me, and the mender is healing everyone around. I can also address this where it comes to containers. Since they changed the distance on using the E key when you target things to open, collision is keeping you from even reaching a lot unopened containers. If there is nothing to jump on, or you can't jump high enough, your pretty much screwed.

I hate missing out on a party, so I'll go ahead and reserve this spot in line.

I agree; plus mob NPCs can still block you shoot spells and arrow through/around obstacles and mob healers seem to have infinite mana.

Wagon handles..... I've had that happen several times.

I really hope ZOS has plans to address this area with npc's

I have been noticing this lately as I have been playing with a 2H build on my Sorcerer. Something I would like to add that I would also like to see reworked is how those enemy ice wall spells work.

Sure, I understand they are supposed to block projectiles and absorb damage. But if I intentionally strafe the *** and the wall is not between me and my target line of sight, my spells should not arc into the damn wall five meters off to the left like it was some damn quantum vortex!

If you want it to act that way make the spell a cool looking dark energy orb that floats between the mob and you, that way it would at least not TOTALLY break immersion when my spells go flying off at a 45 degree angle to where I am facing!

Well this explains a lot. I was wondering why the Necromancers I was fighting would pop out of each other like stacking dolls.

What's even more strange is when I'm grouped with my friend. I attack 2 mobs and the one I'm not attacking runs off to him.

    And he's a good 50m away!

    Something is wrong

Works well until you hit high level Vet areas, though as a Nightblade it's best to re-stun them if possible.

Ive also found tab to work. Maybe its just me but I cant hit anything *but* my locked target when I have one unless I aoe.

When Im tanking I typically hate flank ai and love when they stack. Every other game Ive played punishes you in some way for letting them hit you in the back(be it sneak bonus, backstabs, flank bonuses, inability to block or parry) so I prefer everything in front and if theres collision(which is stupid huge on some mobs) theyre going to fan waaaay out and get behind you.

Yes, you can dodge roll through them and reposition. Wastes a lot of stamina when you need it to block and that pack of 3-4 keeps getting behind you.

*tilts head* What does RP have to do with anything?

    Nothing, that's what.

Immersion has nothing to do with it. I'm an RPer and I find the stacking damn annoying as well.

Tab target man! Before going in, hit tab on your main target. This will place a "border" around the enemy. As long as your retical stays within that border, all you single-target abilities will hit that target.

Simply an example of the horrible collision system in place with enemy mobs, nothing more. I could have pulled another example out of my hat for comparison - then John Doe #2 would post a similar comment as you. I'm not here to please you, nor am I here to anger you.

Unfortunately this does not work. I have tried it as well others have said it does not work either.
