If I could find a guild that raids my hours, I would be more of a pve dungeon runner. So I guess right now I fit under "SOMETHING ELSE" ---> bored.

I like to do both usually I'll do some PvE for awhile and when I'm in the mood I'll do switch to PvP.

PvE (Dungeon Runner)

For as long as I can remember, to me an MMO has meant that I group up with people to beat some big bad monsters. Yeah, there are quests. Yeah, there is PvP. But at its core, when I play an MMO it is to beat big, bag internet dragons and win shinier pixels for my character and it has always been the prime motivation for me to play.

Aside from WoW pre-LFD, in which case it meant playing with my friends on a PvP server and bashing the ever living *** out of the opposite faction goons. Kinda fun when I heard some scumbag other faction types, warned my friends, then we pushed their *** in so hard it was hilarious. For us, at least. To be on the receiving end was always crap.

i would say PvE open world and dungeon runner, but that wasn't an option. I PvP too, but not to the same extent.

Honestly, its just another Werewolf thread, but not ones like "Oh its too weak" or "Oh vampire is better" that generic thing, every statement in the thread will be referencing previous ideas, games, information, poll results, and other sciencey stuff.
I'm going to let this poll run for a week while I do more research, best part is, this poll itself is stuff that could actually matter's to the ZoS's employee's if they pay'ed any attention, as it could provide them with a demographic of what people like to do.

I can't provide much more than that at this current time, but that basically the gist of it. The poll here will still run long after the new thread, picking up more and more votes, becoming more and more accurate...so that's a good thing i suppose.

Only problem with that, its it doesn't let me add more categories, which is why I added it to a Microsoft word chart! All of the above, I like to enjoy games to their fullest, When i finish PVE content, i move to PVP and RP. I feel i get more for my money that way.

Curious.....what distinguishes an RP player from a PvE player in a game such as this?

I ask because to me, playing the game (doing the quests, following the adventure, etc.) IS RP'ing. My chars all have stories that they are building, personalities, different moralities....some of my chars couldnt give two turds less about the mage's guild, one of them is all in, another is like, "meh. I'll collect these books cuz they're neat, not cuz I care about your guild or anything."I've been to Cyrodil with most if my chars, but as none of them are vet level I ultimately just get ganked a bunch. I do intend to explore and play this content more once I'm able to actually compete.

To me, the game itself is the GM, and the journey: choosing how certain things will end and what mark I will ultimately leave on the world, is the game.

Admittedly, I am an MMO noob. This is my first, and RP'ing is something I've mostly done at a table with various die, sheets of paper, and an all powerful person leading a story. Seems to me that it wiuld be difficult to play out any other story than the one we are given here, though.

Again, I ask because I'm curious, and I really don't understand the distinction. This seemed like a good thread to ask in without getting totally flamed.

I'd love to vote in your poll, but I'm unsure of how to answer it for myself.

Love do to quests. I'm actually really enjoying the quests in the VR1 zone despite what others might have said about it being boring.

You won't see many players that play their role consequently and this includes their interaction and chat with other players. Those RP players are very rare and the rest are just followers and call themselves RP ...

And the way most RP players are dealing with PvE is something that can be very time consuming. A real RP player would not rush at all, even on a bad day because it makes no sense when it comes to immersion or integration of your own story into environment.

They live and enjoy all the details in a different way. Like actors in a scene.

You cannot mix hardcore, casual or RP players.
But they all share one thing, they have fun playing their game!
As long they don't cross and telling others how to play or how to have fun they have a great time.

I'm a roleplayer. But I roleplay while doing all aspects of the game. (here for the first time alot less pvp becuase Im not really enjoying the pvp here but thats a different topic for a different discussion, but no Im not talking about arenas))

Im a full time roleplayer and everything ingame I do, it is in character.

Both for now but plan on being mostly into PvP later. The PvP community in ESO is really great and you don't get the kind of elitism that raid style PvE encourages like trials where serious groups only run DK and Sorc for best times.

@Bromburak‌ Thanks!! That's kind of what I figured.....but clarification is always nice.

I play my chars in ESO (as I did in Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind) with the same mentality as I played my chars in D&D, Rifts, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, etc, etc. Which is to say I dont rush, I stay in character, and I try not to let my above the board knowledge effect my decisions as a character.

Guess that puts me in the RP category.

Levelling and playing PVE on that way... but usually, I tend to be more on the PVP side of life in MMO endgame.
