Randomly jumps to character select screen from ingame, followed by loss of progress.

The game is constantly loading to the character select screen while I'm playing
and when I try to relog it crashes to an error report window after a long hang on
blackscreen.

When I log back in I'm back where I started, it's not saving any progress for me.
Its been happening for a few hours now. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
I'd like to play the game.

This happened to me also. First there was a brief random load screen and a few minutes later I got kicked to the character selection screen but in my case I didn't lose any progress except the mini-boss that I was engaged in battle with at the time.

This is what people refer to as a "rollback" - usually the entire zone is affected. I got rolled back 3 times in 20 mins earlier in Stonefalls while leveling up my alt, so I logged for a few hours. Just tried again now and got rolled back again. I was going to create a thread but Catroots beat me to it.

I've decided to cancel my subscription, which is a shame because I find the game beautiful and the story compelling. I'm sure we'll get another 5 days free game time due to the patch issues, but is that even worth it?

I'm trying to stick it out because I know mmo game early life is always rocky as the devs figure things out. That and I think this game as some real potential...

That said, between the patch breaking more quests, and ramping VR difficulty to unbearable levels, its getting very tempting to throw my hands up and just move on.

I have had it happen once tonight. I was in Davon's Watch, Stonefalls, Morrowind, had just run to the Bank from the Clothing crafting station next to the Fighters Guild tower, and after a few moments inside I was disconnected. When I returned I was standing at the Clothing station with the items I had deconstructed still in my possession, the materials gained from deconstructing those items not there, and the item I had begun to research still in my inventory, too: clearly it didn't save from some point before that. It had saved since I first logged on into the Stonefalls wilderness ten minutes previous, however.

Interestingly, as I typed the above paragraph I was disconnected while at the Bank in Davon's Watch again, this time immediately after loading in (maybe five seconds) as a fine fellow that holds some crafting materials for me and lives in the bank (behind the counter!). As I didn't do anything I can't verify any non-save or otherwise this time.

Based on zone chat earlier, rollbacks are apparently particularly bad at Davon's Watch bank, so I'd avoid it.

Well, went and played my Covenant character in Grahtwood for hours without incident, then got the yen for some Morrowind and switched over to my character that's in Stonefalls. After fifteen minutes of play, During which I ran around Davon's Watch a bit, took a Wayshrine out west, killed some goblins, then picked up a quest from a drunk merchant, I was suddenly sent to the Characters selection menu and the character selected was the last one I had played before getting on the character in Stonefalls. When I logged back in with that Stonefalls character, I was back to standing in the bank as if the last fifteen minutes hadn't happened, character actions not saved. It happened again within a minute of logging back in, as well.

Going to log back into Grahtwood, I suppose, and put in an in-game bug report about it.

Getting rolled back moving around Deshaan areas. This is becoming so annoying.

I am lvl 49, and cannot even get into the Harborage to finish the main storyline. Each time I attempt to wayshrine to the Harborage or anywhere in Stonefalls, it kicks me out to character select.

I'd like to point out that since I have finished Coldharbor, and had logged out the night before the patch with JUST the Molag Bal final stage main story quest left, this basically means I cannot play at all, or progress until this issues is resolved.

I was wondering if you spend the 15 minutes before the rollback, refining mats and then post the purple/gold mats on a guild store,
What happens when you get rolled back and the mats have never been refined.
Is the item then in the guild store, or was it never there?

Because the members of large trading guilds are in several different zones, as we know.

This happened to me also. I was leveling my alt in Stonefalls and 3 times in half hour automatically logged out.

Edit: Again same thing in Stonefalls after 20 min play time

This is REALLY PISSING ME OFF!! I can't even enjoy the freakin' game that I've paid $75 for!! WTF Zeni?!? I got rolled back twice today on the same quest, AFTER I'd beaten the boss!! This is RIDICULOUS!! FIX THIS ZENI!!! NOW!! I'd like to be able to play on my day off, but NO, I can't even get ONE QUEST LINE done without worrying about being rolled back and losing all the progress I've made in the last hour or so!!

I was fishing in stonefalls to try to get some rares supposedly fixed by the patch, had several rollbacks and lost my rares. I also have the confirmed memory leak (MB every few seconds) in launcher and eso.exe so maybe that is related.

It's not just about rollbacks. It's about crashing issue - constant crashes after some time for some. Inability to login for others.

I have now been in Stonefalls on a Pact character for over an hour, both at Davon's Watch and out west in the wilderness, and haven't had it happen again.

I just had this issue while in Riften, and it rolled me back at least 10 to 15 mins. This really needs fixed because if I had been doing anything difficult or involved I would be very, very frustrated right about now.
