ESO not grabbing focus, cannot click on anything

When I hit "Play", the game loads up in the background rather than on the screen. If I try to switch to that tab, I can see what's on the screen, but none of my keys work and I can't click anywhere. Thus, I can't sign in, and I can't quit out. I can alt-tab in and out, but it never lets me click anywhere in the screen.

Closed and reopened, closed and reopened launcher, rebooted PC... nothing fixes it.

Edit - oh, and it still focuses on my desktop. So if I click on what LOOKS like my ESO screen, I'm actually clicking on the hidden icons behind it.

try deleting/renaming your usersetting file in your document folder (in the elder scrolls online/live??/ folder)

so it did work?
they changed the way the graphic engine worked, they didn't test it enough with the setting files some players have since the game was released, soooo many bug reported today fixable with a simple setting reset... pff

Yup. I had installed video card drivers and it was still working afterward, but the new catalyst comes with a thing to "optimize" your video settings... and that obviously hasn't been updated. So as soon as it tried to optimize them, the game broke. I had totally forgotten it did that since I told it to undo changes.
