Vampire Skill Leveling

Robert_E_Pee
Hey guys I'm a new Vampire and I'm looking for any tips and tricks. I've seen its very difficult to level up my vampire skill level and I've been looking everywhere to see any easier and quicker ways to level up, but haven't seen anything good or helpful. I'm just wondering what's the fastest and quickest ways for me to level up my Vampire skill levels?

It levels just as your character does. You can do quests or grind mobs endlessly until your Vampire is level 10. I personally found Coldharbour to be a handy place to grind those levels, but it might depend on your current level though.

Yeah it's just been a pain to level. I'm almost at level 2 now and I've been using my Drain Essence like crazy lol, so hoping it starts speeding up!

It doesn't matter how often you use the power. As long as it is on your bar when you gain XP, that power will gain XP. If you are a vampire, even with no abilities on your bar, you will level up Vamp as you gain XP.

However, the line and the powers kind of assume that you didn't get the bite until level 38ish, which is when you can normally travel around that zone. as such, if you are much lower level than that it will take a long time to level up.

    What level are you?

I think vamp is supposed to be acquired in the upper 30s level range and the XP requirement for the skill line is scaled accordingly.

Well I've heard Vampire leveling takes the same time as leveling in the 30s, but of course I'm only 17. So it has seemed to be going so slow and I'm just trying to see what the best way to level up.

Do you need a vamp skill on bar to lvl the vamp skill line? because i only want the vamp for the passives and maybe the ultimate :D

The vampire skill line is as other's eluded to XP based. That being said they lowered when you can Get the bite by lowering the difficulty of the quest but the xp requirements to go from 1 to 2 to 3 etc are the same as if you got the quest in your 30's. This is why it takes lower level vampires forever to increase their rank and makes them a damage sponge at lower levels. Unlike Werewolf that levels based on time spent killing in the form, it really isn't a good idea to take vampirism until level 30+. Your not doing yourself any favors taking it before you can earn enough exp to increase the level in it quickly for the passive bonuses.

    I've got 3 vampires so far, 2 Master Vampires and 1 @ level 3(almost 4).
The "youngest" one was character level 3 when I hunted down the Bloodfiend spawns. I finished the quest at level 3 w/no armor, no flame weapon, just my basic bow from the urn. I know I rock!

Anyway, as everyone has said, it appears as though we weren't supposed to be playing vampire until level 38ish, and so XP is scaled down and takes awhile to get. You do not need a vamp skill slotted. The fastest or rather best way to level the vampire is to do EVERYTHING.

Dolmens, world bosses, quests etc etc.

My 1st Master Vampire was character level 38 by the time I reached vamp lv10.
The 2nd was 34, but I didn't have very many white named quests with this one.

Green titled quests seem to give the "best" vamp xp.
Elder Scrolls games aren't so much about grinding, rather they are intended for exploration and questing. Of course mob grinding is an option, but. This isn't final fantasy, or wow, and mob grinding is a bore.

I'd suggest while you are going from point A to point B while questing to mob grind as it's not as boring and you are on a mission so it keeps it moving.

Good luck and may Lamae's Blessing be ever in your favor.

No you don't, but I heard it levels up faster that way the more skills you have on your bar!

Sweet man, sounds like you've been busy! But may I ask what exactly is an "Master Vampire"? Is it just when you reach level 10 vampire skill level? I'm just excited to reach level 6 and turn others!

Nothing you do will help make the Vampire line level up faster. It depends solely on your XP gain. If you gain 2,000 character XP from killing a group of mobs, your Vampire line also gains 2,000 XP. You don't even need to have any Vampire skills on your bar, and having multiples ones won't increase the XP gain.

XP requirements for Vamp levels scale up based on the level\vet rank of your character at the time of the first bite.

At V14, I got bit for the first time and the first Vampire level required ~80k XP. The amount from Level 9 to 10 vampirism at V14 was around 120-130k XP iirc. So in total it was over 1 million xp to level from 1 to 10 when starting at V14

Wow that's ridiculous. I was level 15 I believe when I first turned, now I'm level 18 and just at Vampire level 2.

I just slot the drain and the ultimate (when I unlock it) on my main bar and I am usually rank 10 by around level 30.

You can also slot mist if you want it to go even faster.

Make sure you have the bar with the vamp abilities on it active when you turn in quests. Only abilities on the active bar get XP.

Yeah, so basically the lesson here is get Vampire early if you plan to use it. ;)

That is generally the case with all trees that level by experience. More weapon abilities and that weapon levels faster, more from one class tree and that tree levels faster, etc.
