Guild Data Collection

Hello! My name is @Elderborn from the Bounty Hunters Guild. I'm on a mission to collect data from various guilds in order to better improve my own and provide this information to others as well. I'm just asking if you might be able to provide a rough estimate of this information off the top of your head, although a detailed description would be extremely helpful. As for data that might require a rating such as interactivity, just use a scale of 1-10 with 1 being low, 5 being a medium amount, and 10 being high.

BANK
  • Do you have a guild treasury? If so, what is the amount contained in it?
  • How is the income of the guild treasury maintained? What methods and the amount put in?
  • What is the accessibility of items in the bank? And what sort of item diversity is allowed within it?
  • How is loot distributed?

PLAYERS
  • What is the size of your guild roster?
  • How many officers are assigned in the guild, and what duties are they meant to perform?
  • What is the job/role differentiation like? Are they assigned or open? What sort of jobs are you necessarily lacking or exceeding in?
  • How is the interaction between guild mates? Is there a lot or little?
  • How is activity within the guild? Do you have a lot of inactive players? How often and for how long do players usually check in?
  • What methods of recruiting do you use? How effective is it? And how often are players brought in?

GUILD
  • What sort of guild do you have? Is it PvP/PvE/RP or a combination of 2 or the 3? And how effective is your guild at fulfilling it's role as that type?
  • How often are dungeon or trial runs done? How effective is you and your guild mates at completing them?
  • What kind of events are hosted by your guild? How effective are guild mates at attending these events?

This is by no means going to provide a complete set of all the needed data. If there's anything you think could be improved or any suggestion you can make for this questionnaire, let me know.

    BANK
    • Do you have a guild treasury? If so, what is the amount contained in it? Yes, but it is optional. If you want to contribute you can but you don't have to.
    • How is the income of the guild treasury maintained? What methods and the amount put in? Players deposit what they can when they can if they can.
    • What is the accessibility of items in the bank? And what sort of item diversity is allowed within it? All players who have passed the two week trial period and have been accepted into the guild have complete access to everything. We deposit all materials, high level gear, motifs, etc.
    • How is loot distributed? Players take what they need and deposit what they don't.

    PLAYERS
    • What is the size of your guild roster? 14
    • How many officers are assigned in the guild, and what duties are they meant to perform? 5. They all have authority to perform any guild duties with the exception of kicking someone. That is saved for the GM...me.
    • What is the job/role differentiation like? Are they assigned or open? What sort of jobs are you necessarily lacking or exceeding in? Each player has a different skill they specialize in, woodworking, blacksmithing, etc. All mats and improvement materials go to that person to be able to provide to the guild as needed. Not lacking in anything at the moment and are able to keep all our members in crafted armor and weps at all times.
    • How is the interaction between guild mates? Is there a lot or little? Core group of 4 or 5 that is on pretty much every night with the others coming and going.
    • How is activity within the guild? Do you have a lot of inactive players? How often and for how long do players usually check in? See above.
    • What methods of recruiting do you use? How effective is it? And how often are players brought in? We don't really recruit as much as keep an eye on players we PUG with to see if there would be a good fit for our guild.

    GUILD
    • What sort of guild do you have? Is it PvP/PvE/RP or a combination of 2 or the 3? And how effective is your guild at fulfilling it's role as that type? PVP/PVE. When a large group is on, we can run dungeons with ease and PVP when wanted.
    • How often are dungeon or trial runs done? How effective is you and your guild mates at completing them? Usually once or twice a week. We normally level to the lowest player to help them through so we finish all dungeons we start.
    • What kind of events are hosted by your guild? How effective are guild mates at attending these events? We don't host events.

This is by no means going to provide a complete set of all the needed data. If there's anything you think could be improved or any suggestion you can make for this questionnaire, let me know.

I'm just looking to improve upon our already existing system. I've noticed it's lacking in areas that I've mentioned above. And any reason that they might not want to share?

Because of the current trader bidding system most guilds are very private about the guilds financials. After all, you are the competition.

    I'll tell you all I can :)

I can say that I am the administrator of the guild More Than Fair. We have over 490 members and we are a friendly, helpful and social guild.

We accommodate all kinds of players. From RP to PvP.

One important decision we made at the start of this guild was to forgo the traditional "power hierarchy" of guild ranks.

All members of More Than Fair are equal.

We allow all guild members to chose their own "rank" based their main interest in game.

Some examples of the ranks at MTF are- Leveling, PvE, PvP and Crafting.

This allows our guild members to find like minded players quickly by looking at the guild roster or to find out if any crafters are online etc...

We usually organize 4 or more guild events each week and have our guild meetings weekly every Tuesday to which all guild members are welcome.

Guild meetings are where any important guild plans/goals/rules are discussed.
We look over the previous week and make plans for the weeks ahead.

Any issues/problems/new ideas/events/rules are voted on.
    One member=one vote.
    Most votes win ;)

We try to run a ratio of guild moderators of about 1/20, but it varries on the avalibility of willing and suitable candates.

All members of our guild are welcome to invite other players to join the guild and that is how we aqire the bulk of our new members.

Only myself and the guild moderators have the permissions to kick a guild member, and we only ever do so if the guild rules have been seriously, repeatedly breached and three or more moderators are in agreement about taking that action.

We run our own teamspeak server as well as a website and facebook page. TS is a great advantage to have as a guild for bonding as well as in combat.

If you are looking for more tips on how to run/manage a guild I'd be more than happy to discuss it with you privately via teamspeak or in game chat.

This is all very wonderful and very insightful information that I'll be adding to the collection! And I would love to discuss guild management with you sometime! Do you have a teamspeak I might be able to join?
