I'm guessing they ran out of time and money bringing ESO to console and had no choice but to scrap text chat. The completely useless quick chat that got added seems like just an afterthought. -

I agree with you and Ive stated this myself. Implementation dosent hurt anyone, so long as it can be toggled on/off. And we are not advocating to get rid of voice chat, just to add text chat, because -
