Wait... so making a character name not tie back to an account name to the public makes it difficult for Zenimax support to track issues with the account? -
RE: EDITED. Need an option to hide @ID. Its not safe for the account owner. Its a really bad idea.
The battletag system was made by blizz so people could choose their own cross realm account name so it would not match their real ID. -

To be honest this doesn't bother me the least, and Zenimax did give ample warning that the system would work like this before the game launched, those you who had "silly" or your real name as account -
