The Elder Scrolls Online v8.0.3 continues to address issues involving High Isle quests, the new Trial, Companions and Tales of Tribute. Additionally, we’ve made some adjustments to Dragonknight abilities and some item sets, along with a number of crash fixes. We’ve also activated the Whitestrake’s Mayhem event for testing this week.

We want to give everyone a heads up that throughout the week, we’ll be making some adjustments to Tales of Tribute campaigns including changing the end time, ending a campaign, and starting a new campaign. This will occur at least once a day during the day (Eastern Standard Time).

Thanks for your patience and all your feedback so far! You can expect the size of this PTS patch to be approximately 522MB.

    Whitestrake’s Mayhem Event Testing
Whitestrake's Mayhem returns to Cyrodiil and the Imperial City! Complete your introduction with Predicant Maera (or do it again this year if you want!) to receive your Scroll of Pelinal’s Ferocity.
    • Pelinal’s Boon Boxes are rewarded for completing daily quests in Cyrodiil or Imperial City district daily quests, or as a bonus reward with Rewards for the Worthy mails you receive.
      • These boxes contain a variety of goodies ranging from Tel-Var stones to Cyrodiil repair kits or soul gems, as well as a chance for Cyrodiil style pages, Daedric siege weapons, transmute geodes.
      • There is also a very rare chance to receive a bag containing runeboxes for both of the new Battle-Scarred face and body markings. The bag is not tradeable, but the individual runeboxes are once taken out of the bag.
    • You can earn a total of 3 Event Tickets per day during this event.
      • The first 2 come from completing any daily quest that focuses on Cyrodiil or Battlegrounds. You may earn an additional ticket by completing an Imperial City District daily quest. Visit both places if you want to maximize your ticket earnings!
    • In addition to the rewards from previous Mayhems, this year’s new outfit style is the House Dufort Banneret Armor.
      • Style pages for this armor have a chance to drop from bosses in the Imperial City but are also available from the Impresario for 5 tickets each.
      • Bosses in the Imperial City also have a small chance to drop an additional page for last Mayhem's Black Drake Clanwrap armor style.
    • The helpful Reachman, Cullearn, remains at the Impresario's tent to model the Battle-Scarred face and body markings.
    • The Impresario will have bound style pages for the House Dufort Banneret Armor for 5 tickets each, as well as the face and body markings (sold separately) for 5 tickets each. Also available will be all three fragments of the Soulfire Dragon Illusion Pet as well as the first fragment of the Daggerfall Paladin costume.

    Dragonknight
    • Ardent Flame
      • Searing Strike
        • Burning Embers (morph): Reduced the healing value from this morph to up to 50%, down from up to 100%.
          Developer Comment:
Right now, the healing values from this ability are enabling the Dragonknight too much staying power. While we want to retain the ability to reward the caster for going in and dotting up their foes, the raw damage and healing from this ability is simply too much in its current form.
      • Combustion: This passive now has a cooldown of 3 seconds, up from .5 seconds.
        Developer Comment:
This passive is enabling a lot of sustain in situations where you're building around it with status chance increases, allowing the Dragonknight to sustain effortlessly with a few passive options. The class was originally meant to struggle more with sustain, with larger moments of burst with Battle Roar and Combustion procs peppered in. While we love the synergy here with some more niche gameplay elements like Charged and focusing on status effects, this passive was removing one of the core weaknesses of the class that kept it in check in many areas. As such, we're increasing the cooldown in hopes to bring back some of the natural difficulty the class has with keeping the pedal to metal, while still being more viable than it was when its flames were more like embers.
    • Draconic Power
      • Dragon Blood
        • Coagulating Blood (morph):
          • This morph no longer reduces in cost, but instead increases the healing bonus based on your missing Health to 50%, up from 33%.
          • The healing bonus is now a true value, rather than an additive value.
          • Reduced the base healing of the skill by approximately 3% to fix some calculation errors.
          Developer Comment:
This skill is currently enabling the Dragonknight to bounce back from near death situations a little too frequently, where its significant cost reduction compared to other burst heals of its nature is allowing it to be cast with reckless abandon. By taking away the cost reduction bonus on the morph, we needed to find another morph empowerment to ensure the skill felt like it was gaining something, rather than changing something. As the skill IS meant to bring you back from Death's Door, we wanted to reinforce this with the execute scaling increase, but hopefully we see the frequency of returning from the brink a little less frequently.

    Armor
    • Heavy Armor
      • Fixed an issue where the tooltip for the Heavy Armor bonuses was still referencing a 3% increase to Bash Damage instead of the 30 flat damage bonus.
      • Unstoppable: Fixed an issue with this ability and its morphs where the snare could stack with other player snares.
        • Note that many monster sourced snares may still stack, as they care not for your petty rules and regulations. Their methods are beyond your comprehension.

    h1ctb5o8g0gz.png
    General
    • Added a new "Minimal" setting for Companion Reactions, under the General section of Gameplay settings, which further reduces the likelihood for Companions to verbally respond to your actions.
    • Fixed an issue that could cause Companions to temporarily stop commenting when they were directed to engage or withdraw in combat via pet commands.
    • Fixed various minor issues in which Companion text and spoken language did not perfectly match.

    Responses & Rapport
    • Isobel will now more consistently comment on entering specific cities, as intended.
    • Adjusted the frequency of Ember's responses and rapport adjustments to performing repeatable non-heist Thieves Guild quests.
    • Ember and Isobel will now respond with more natural timing to your use of certain Memento collectibles.
    • Fixed an issue that prevented Isobel from expressing her distaste of visiting Outlaw Refuges.
    • Ember will now periodically respond verbally when expressing her disinterest in fishing, as well as more consistently apply rapport adjustments.
    • Ember will now occasionally comment when looting Thieves Troves and Safe Boxes, as originally intended.
    • Isobel will now more consistently respond when you steal.
    • Fixed an issue which could cause Isobel to not respond when you feed as a vampire.
    • Fixed an issue wherein Isobel would sometimes fail to acknowledge you interacting with certain NPCs she felt strongly about.

    Visuals
    • Embers teeth no longer penetrate her bottom lip while whistling.
    • Ember's lightning idle visuals will no longer get stuck on her hands when in conversations.
    • The houseguest version of Isobel will no longer adjust non-existent gloves periodically.

    keryqtq05s3g.png
    Mythic Items
    • Mora's Whispers: Increased the bonus XP granted from monster kills to 15%, up from 10%, to try and help increase the payout of the set for all you based Mages Guild grinders out there.
    • Oakensoul:
      • This set no longer grants 3737 Health, Magicka, and Stamina.
      • Replaced the Major Endurance, Fortitude, and Intellect with their Minor buff counterparts as these are far harder to obtain.
      • This set now also grants Major Brutality, Major Sorcery, Major Berserk, Major Protection, Major Force, and Major Heroism.
      Developer Comment:
We’re doubling down on the identity of this Mythic, where it’s meant to be an alternative to running many abilities that would naturally grant you a ton of power in form of duration-based bonuses. Our hope is that the access to a ton of Major and Minor buffs really helps this Mythic stamp itself down as an accessibility option to players who don’t have access to sweaty buff uptimes, group compositions, and high APM. The removal of unique stats takes away any situation where this Mythic felt like a straight upgrade to others and carves a unique spot that is more niche than what was previously seen, but still stands its ground with granting you access to a lot of raw power.

    Trial Sets
    • Pillagers Profit:
      • Casting an Ultimate ability while in combat grants 5% of Ultimate spent as Ultimate, up to a max of 20, to up to 11 group members within 12 meters every 2 seconds over 10 seconds.
      • Group members can only be affected by this set every 45 seconds.
      Developer Comment:
This set has been updated to shift away from granting a huge spike in immediate power to capping it and feeding it over time to the group. With this change, the most a player will be able to gain is 100 Ultimate total, and the over time will allow some of the bonus to feed into your next Ultimate if you cast while the buff is active. With this, we hope to make the set more beneficial outside of highly coordinated groups that can line up all their Ultimates in a short window, as well as reducing the burst potential of the set in those situations.

    General
    • Fixed an issue where a small number of Jewelry quest rewards had an invalid enchantment on them.

    dg61o1vwt1wb.png
    Zeal of Zenithar
    • Fixed an issue where contents of reward parcels were bound when they shouldn't have been, particularly research scrolls and style pages or recipes. Some contents are still bound by design, such as bounty pouches, keys, and the like that are normally bound.
    • Fixed an issue where pickpocketing from NPCs for Zenithar's Delightful Parcel was happening less frequently than intended. It's still a very low chance, though!
    • Impresario Group Repair Kits looted from Zenithar event boxes will no longer be too high a level for low level characters to use.
    • Fixed an issue where some random encounters across Tamriel related to Zeal of Zenithar were spawning a bit too frequently.
    • Fixed an issue impacting Zanil Theran's visibility at the Belkarth Festival Grounds. He should be there any time he would also be in Coldharbour, and not only during Zeal at those times.
    • Fixed an issue where the Redguard Swordmaster training at the blacksmith's tent would encounter some spastic animation issues.
    • The Unrefusable Offer:
      • Fixed some animation issues with Amminus Varo during his conversations.
      • Reworked some conversation links that infer you can trade for the maple wood, which isn't true anymore as it is now a quest item rather than a real one.
    • Honest Toil: Corrected a typo in Fasaria's dialogue that said "baring" instead of "barring", the actual word she says.

    tcaxf78y6dv0.png
    Furnishings
    • Fixed an issue where Arox the Mutilator was temporarily invisible on the PTS.
    • The Druidic Provisioning Station antiquity furnishing now has gentle sparks and light coming from the fire inside.
    • Improved the camera behavior when using the Druidic Provisioning Station antiquity furnishing.
    • Centered the light cast by the "High Isle Streetlight, Paired" furnishing.
    • The "High Isle Lantern, Table" furnishing no longer tips over on its side when aligned to surfaces. (Turns out that was a serious fire hazard!)
    • Updated the name of the "High Isle Trunk, Compass Rose" furnishing to "High Isle Trunk, Ornate" to better match its appearance.
    • Removed unnecessary quotation marks from the song title in certain music box names, bringing their style in line with other music boxes.

    NPCs
    • Fixed an issue where NPCs would sometimes animate incorrectly while turning to face your character.

    1aj2r01sabcv.png
    General
    • Disabling Accessibility Mode will now return your Gamepad UI settings back to how you had them set previously.
    • Updated the iconography in the Activity Finder to better reflect disabled states of entries, such as the Dungeon Finder when you're below level 10.
    • You will no longer get a prompt to pickpocket NPCs who are laying down.

    Gamepad Mode
    • Added a new setting called "Use Keyboard Login". This will ensure that, by default, using the Gamepad UI in-game will still use the Keyboard UI before logging into the game world, similar to how it has in the past for PC players. You can toggle the option to use the Gamepad UI before logging in with a character, if desired.
    • Fixed an issue where icons in the Map Legend were rendering behind the background.
