If your talking about trying to combat like the Sauce Guilds, and the Empire Guilds and all that bro good luck. You are going to waste literally millions of gold for absolutely no reason. You are going up against players who have access to hundreds of millions of gold. Give up now before you waste your and other players gold. It’s 100% useless.

It’s actually not a a sad state of affairs, join their guild and if your desperate to run a trading guild, get a cheap trader away from major towns or in an old dlc town. There’s absolutely zero reason to take them down, you’ll take away the ability to make gold from thousands of players. Maybe 1% of Xbox players are on the forums, let’s say you randomly managed to get a full guild, you now have 500 players. Your idea is to remove the ability to sell on a major trader because the random 500 people you gathered are deemed “more important” then the players in that guild. By the way, yes I am apart of this so called monopoly, I’m in two large trading guilds, and I can tell you right now, their guilds aren’t full, so just I don’t know, join one? I seriously don’t see the issue here, obviously you need to explain as to why this is such a huge issue that it requires a forum post about it.

What is funny is I recall a trade guild that did very well and was in a top location early in the game. The original leader left the game and when the good location died out the new leadership missed the boat and lost much of their strong traders.

Lo and behold one of the new assistant leads used to come to the forums can complain about the system. The same system they enjoyed until they stopped paying attention and they remained in that original spot for the next few years.

Now in present day Tamriel that very same guild has new leadership again. Leadership apparently made some changes and some good choices and somehow, on their own, managed to muster what it took to get into one of the more popular hubs and have remained there for about a year and counting.

So the point of all this is to suggest that complaining about perceived monopolies will not change anything for your trade guild. Making good choices, being the leader a successful trade guild requires, is what will change your guild from what it is now to the powerhouse it can be. It has been proven to work.

Not deeming anyone more important over another. The system will only change if we change it. Public Trading should be free or nearly free for all. We the players need to force the change by not supporting these monopolies.

Now this is very much a socialist idea which does not sit very well for being a successful trade guild leader since that is very capitalistic.

I am not trying to be funny but now you sound just like that assistant guild leader that I mentioned complained in the forums often. He was part of the leadership team that could not get it done.

In other words you have the wrong attitude if you want to be a successful guild leader. Successful leaders do not make excuses. They make plans and execute them.

No successful guild that holds a top spot will ever be free or nearly free. A 10k due is 100% reasonable and easily doable. If you are in a guild in a top trading spot and not make over 10k a week, you aren’t doing it right. I joined a trading guild today, part of one of those monopolies you hate so much with a 10k weekly due, and I’ve made that back already, in one day.

And considering guilds are bidding a few mil to get that spot, it’s completely unrealistic to assume that said guild will be able to afford said spot on the 3.5% sale tax they receive, without the guild leader putting in millions of gold every week.

And no, I’m not a gm of any guild, I once ran a semi successful trade guild that held the trader in Kragenmoor for a few months straight, and yes my guild had no due, and yes I, by myself paid a few hundred thousand gold each week to ensure we had that spot. But that was a long time ago, running a successful trading guild is practically a full time job and I don’t have time for that.

I am a officer or higher rank or what have you in a trading guild, but it’s just one, we are no means a monopoly.

You didn’t hit a nerve, per say, but I can get irritated when people assume the current system, which is working basically as intended, isn’t working. No matter what you do or say, those trader spots are going to go for millions and millions of gold, the game has been out long enough that I would bet these “monopoly guild owners” are probably into the billions in personal gold, plus the few hundred million they probably have in their guild banks. This game isn’t much different from real life in a sense, a small majority own a vast amount of the wealth.
