I Don't LIke The Night Market Update

After my initial excursions into the Night Market, it looked like I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as a casual and mostly-solo player, the way I prefer to play.

And after reading through the associated Golden Pursuits, I came to terms with the expectation that I most likely wouldn't get all of the rewards from it.

But instead of just giving up on experiencing the Night Market and writing off the Golden Pursuits, I went back in and started to learn my way around the districts without having the relics to use. I accepted a random request to group up and had a lot of fun clearing various types of bosses-- brazen, argent, calamitous, and skirmish. And I started using the Group Finder to join in groups which were trying to clear the types of content I needed for my faction dailies or to complete the relics. After no more than a few days, I completed more than half of the Golden Pursuits, and within a week or so I completed the three relics and unlocked all wings of the free house.

I've now completed more than 40 of the Golden Pursuits and claimed the final reward, and have just one more to complete for the remaining "extra" reward (meaning one of the rewards that come from completing specific pursuits), which I'll easily get by doing another faction daily or two.

I haven't tried the three dungeons or the trial yet, but I plan to start working on those during the remainder of the event.

And best of all, I haven't had to change my builds for the Night Market; I've just been using the same old general, all-purpose, solo/casual builds I've been using on PCEU and PCNA for years now. I also haven't had to completely change my play style; most of the time I just run around solo, doing some of the daily district quests, killing at least 25 enemies for Dorfifa's daily quest, and hopefully getting my daily faction quest completed.

TL;DR-- I think casual solo players can enjoy the Night Market if they give it a try, and there is still time for players to earn all of the rewards in the associated Golden Pursuit even if they haven't started yet.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I mostly play without headphones, but I did dig some out that I had (cheap PS4 ones since my fancy headsets don't work right...) and learned more chatting with one chatty group than I had in several other pickup groups before.

Well worth the audio if you can find such a group, though it was rare for me.

the problem is I get the instance is full alot so I cannot get to the group leader

I know that there is a cap of 36 people, but I actually never got that message (and I've been doing all of the farming in PUGs). The only time this happened is when someone created a 12 man group for a 4 man dungeon. I do not know why people keep doing that, and I now simply check that the group for a dungeon I'm about to join is for 4 people.

It was too easy xD and at this point these threads are becoming spam. Instead of using the feedback thread, every day there are 10 new “I don’t like Nightmarket” topics. It’s becoming ridiculous.

If grouping is not for you, just skip it? I don’t play every PvP content either. Crying all day about why group content is not solo content is getting really boring.

So after playing the event for two days:

Overall completing the quests hasn’t been an issue running stage 4 vamp for invisi sprint, invisi potions, streaking when necessary, and being equipped with decent heals. My only remaining concern regarding this is new players not knowing how to navigate the zones safely by themselves for little “gather these items or interact with these random things” quests.

I stand by what I said about groups. Sometimes, especially at certain times of day, there just aren’t enough groups or people joining them. It hasn’t been a major issue, but having to walk away from the event simply to try again at a “better” time another day is a little annoying. Definitely need to just keep refreshing that event group finder though even at those better times, and that might be something new/returning players are missing as well.

The content itself is not bad, I wouldn’t go as far as saying I love it though. Nothing has required too many bodies on the floor except one boss (forget the name). I ended up having to leave the group I joined to make a whole second group to help take it down (and this was after some failed attempts the previous day with an entirely different group). And I have yet to see the calamity in Parch die, definitely just seems like a difficult one to coordinate random groups on.

My takeaway is that the event isn’t bad, but also not something I can see people lining up for. For me specifically, I like that Zenimax is trying different things… but outside of farming the items for the zones house, I don’t really know why I’d be participating in it.
Speaking of, most tedious thing has been getting this Parch “weak” enemies splinter to drop. Like why.

    Greetings,

With there already being a thread opened on this subject here, we're going to go ahead and close this one down.
