How to buy Tamriel Tomes

How do we buy these?

Will the basic free one automatically added to our account, or will we have to activate it somewhere?

With premium and premium + ones, do we have to buy this outside the game? For me, this would be PS store.

How would the free premium tome you can get for eso+ membership be activated? Via store or in-game?

Just curious as can’t find info anywhere (but may have overlooked as lots to read!)

Yes, personally I would like to know if they will be available through redeemable game codes (like chapters and last year Season Pass), because currently it's the only way I can buy anything ESO-related in my country.

I very much assume they will make it easy to get and in the crown store or its own new UI. It's in their best interests to do so. Making it convoluted or difficult would be a bad choice imo. Probably a new menu UI to open the tome and get rewards and a place in the crown store to upgrade to premium tiers.

You will be able to buy the tome on the tome page (when it is live on April 2).

Everyone will see the Free Tome on April 2. So no action is needed from you. There will also be the option to upgrade on that page as well.

Followed up. Each platform will support an in-game purchase process through the store platform you are playing on. If it's Sony, you will go through their payment process if you choose to upgrade."

Once you get 12 Tome Tokens through ESO Plus, you can spend them that currency on any actively available tome. So you could save it for another Tome down the line that comes up. This article here should help.

Edit: Also wanted to add that we will have a Tamriel Tome Guide in the coming weeks with more details on function and upgrades.

Can we buy these tomes with crowns too?

Every game I ever played has battle passes purchasable with their own premium currency. Diablo, Sea Of Thieves, Call Of Duty, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals and countless others etc.

ESO also has their premium currency with crowns, so I assume we can also buy tomes that way? If not, I what is the point of crowns if you barely can buy anything worthwhile with them these days?

@ZOS_Kevin apologies for the Necro-posting, but are there any other methods of buying the Tomb outside of the in-game menu?

I play on Xbox through cloud gaming, I don't own an Xbox anymore & I didn't want to restart on PC, but attempting to buy the tomb through the in-game menu results in the cloud gaming instance crashing(?) I know this is probably more an issue on Xbox's end, but a way to buy the tomb outside of the game would also immediately solve this issue for people using Cloud Gaming; & tbh i'm not really sure why there isn't an option to buy it outside of the game like everything else (such as crowns, ESO Plus, etc...)?

Edit:: For those with the same issue, playing through the browser seemed to be the issue for me, when cloudgaming on the Xbox app it worked as intended! I no longer need assisstence, but the lack of an out of game purchase option is still desired to avoid issues like this.
