I was playing OK last night (EU time), come today I run the ESO64.exe as usual and a notice comes up saying need to update.. so OK update.. now the game wont even start, nothing, my graphic drivers are up to date, my windows 10 functions as normal, what I notice is that ESO64.exe has been disbanded and changed to "Bethesda.net_Launcher.exe this runs the launcher, I press play but nothing...obviously the launcher connects somewhere, I press play... nothing.. absolutly nothing... so now what?

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's troubleshooting on the PC platform

Kindly solve the problem!!!! This is happening to me as well.

ESO will NOT load the game now that version 11.1.5.3123159 has been installed. I have made certain that the Nvidia graphics card GeForce® RTX 3060 Ti drivers are up to date, Windows 10 64-bit OS is up to date, Add-ons are removed, and the client has been repaired multiple times.

The launcher can start, and says PLAY. Hitting enter starts to load the game - after that, nothing is reliable. The game will lock up at various points. Rarely does it actually get to the screen for entering the password. Entering the password is impossible: as soon as I try to type, the game locks up. Even trying to switch between NA & EU will cause the game to lock up. No error codes.

Running ESO64.exe directly also fails. Hitting ESC to skip the animations causes freezing of the game. The mouse cursor can move fine - just don't click a mouse button - that will result in a freeze up as well...

As of this last update, loading into any zone can take upwards of 5 minutes for my gf's laptop...once in the zone, frame rate drops to 5fps and her entire system starts thrashing. Not a single other game has this issue, including ones waaaaaaaay more demanding that ESO.

I was able to get in and go about my business sitting literally right next to her on Sunday, on a severely less powerful laptop with zero issues. There's something seriously wrong with the client right now.

    Both laptops are windows 11.

To run a repair on The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), you need to access the game launcher, navigate to the "Game Options" menu, and select the "Repair" option. This will initiate a scan of your game files and automatically download any missing or corrupted files

I know my computer is OK, WIndows 10 functions fine with all things even ESO last week, it still does, My Nvidia drivers for my GeForce RTX Super2070 are up to date.... they too displayed the UI fonts last week and were perfectly legible....
So I'm at a loss to what has changed in the program.. like I said, everywhere else and in other online games everything is fine and clearly readable no matter the font size..... the game is playable no problem there, its just a struggle to read the various windows, guild selling lists, skill lists, collectable lists, etc... those from the inventory, as with name plates.. just about readable ....AND NO ITS NOT MY EYSIGHT.. coincidently I had my eyes tested 3 weeks ago.. but as I say... everywhere else on my computer, online in my browser (like here now) perfectly clear and legible.....
    regards to all
and er... hello ZOS! any ideas?

I had opened a bug report for these black screen hang-ups. ESO Support was totally useless, dragging their feet. They finally claimed they escalated and asked me to create a new Windows login user & try running the game. Very annoying, but I did it. Diff saved variabled, etc. I copied my existing live folder to the "new" user live folder. The game did run & load tho much of my display was not set correctly. When I told Zenimax support that yes, it did load tho I did not consider it playable like that, they could care less - The game loaded therefore they immediately blamed Microsoft and washed their hands of the problem.

I started crawling through old programs and deleting them (on my real user id). Some things were 10 years old. None of it should have mattered, but the game now runs. We'll see how long that lasts, since I still consider it Zenimax's screw-up.
