No currency sound at all after U46, incremental 1

Today after the patch 11.0.6 on PC EU I have no gold drop sound at all.
So after the "all currency drops play the gold sound" the new bug is "gold doesn't have a sound at all". Neither for picking up the gold from guild trader stuff nor for quest rewards.

    Several things missing sounds bug is also present on PCNA. Most of it is relating to crafting and vendors as far as I can tell but I haven't done much in game today besides crafting dailies yet.

    Is there any chance we could get a toggle for the new currency sound that was added for alliance points? In cyrodiil you're often gaining alliance points multiple times a second or every few seconds across several minutes during fights, the audio queue is quite annoying and the only way to disable it is to turn off interface sounds entirely - which then disables things like your potion audio queue.

    Gosh I couldn't agree more here. I thought it was one of my addons that had somehow turned super annoying.

    Afaik the AP sound was never meant that way. At least the currencies I dropped (no AP these days) since U46 all had the gold sound. It was simply a miss-aligned sound.

    If it is a small bug fix, it should be done outside the usual weekly schedule.

    However, I don't know the process behind fixing bugs.
    For example, whether all teams need to be coordinated to find and fix the error and the QA team needs to retest everything to make sure nothing else has broken, which would obviously take more time.

    Ironically, it wouldn't take a lot of work for an experienced addon writer to create an addon that plays the sound.

    I added a small addon you can get via Minion, called "ChaChing". It will workaround this problem, also will work for Smuggler and Fences. When you open a vendor/store to sell, it checks how much gold you have and when you sell, adding to that gold pool, it'll play an appropriate sound.

    Dack_Janiels and Gradain ... "Challenge accepted" ... and boom both in no time put out a addon to fix it.

    Dack_Janiels addon won by a slight margin because it is a bit more comprehensive and fixes more currency sound issues. ;)
    But still good performance from Gradain.

    Hint: if you want to mute some sounds you can use my addon "FCO ChangeStuff": https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1542-FCOChangeStuff-QOLchangesforESO.html
    It got a list of sounds in the settings menu bottom, where you move UI sounds (remember: AddOns cannot touch any game sounds like skills, mounts etc.) that should stop to play from left box -> to the right. And the sound will be muted everywhere ingame.

    The addon got several other UI related QOL fixes and they are all there with settings so you can disable them if not needed (e.g. mail receiver & text favorites and profiles, real champion points shown, crafting featues, map player pin better visibility etc.).
    No ressources wasted etc., so just what you want: you enable it.

    I'm amazed that after 18 hours of maintenance they DIDN'T fix such a tiny bug.

    I had no idea how much I would miss the clink of gold when selling items to vendors until today, when the same bug hit XBox with the latest incremental update. Apparently two weeks wasn't enough time to figure out this issue and make sure it was fixed across all platforms? Or is that just how long it takes XBox certification to grind through these days?

    I think I read something about some currency sound function in the API patch documentation. Gotta check it again tomorrow.

    I guess they changed the infrastructure of currency sounds not recognizing that there is more than one currency or at least that there are currencies that don‘t cling like coins and now they don‘t know how to fix their own mistake anymore.

    Their attempt on fixing the „all currencies sound like coins“ issue was „play no currency sound at all“ to save PVPers from hearing the cling on every single kill or repair AP gain.

    I think they‘ll have to go back to the old currency API but that will take several months and patches to figure out how they gotta do it, causing several new bugs. :D
    Just ZOS things.

    In the meantime we can use one of the addon creators‘ fixes. I‘m using the one made by @Dack_Janiels
    But there is at least one other addon on esoui. Maybe it‘s available for consoles as well.
