Nightblade Animation Locked While Attacking

I have noticed when leveling up a dual wielding Nightblade that I sometimes get into situations when Light-Attack and Surprise-Attack weaving I get animation locked and cant move my character side to side anymore and have to wait till the animation is finished before gaining control back. Most times this is happening on the kill shot, but not always. Definitely happens a lot with Impale attacks. Is this a normal Nightblade thing? What causes this?

This happens with every melee attack. This bug is not bound to nightblade. For example if you use puncture and LA, you cant move anymore for around 1 second.

Ok...then one...why isnt it consistent? I can constantly LA+SA weave while strafing and then after a bit its like randomly I hit a wall and get stuck. And two....Why does this not happen that much with other classes? Was just leveling up a Warden and never noticed it once.

Just went to go test and farmed an area...30+ kills, all the same LA+SA weave style, it happened twice and those two times it was very noticeable. Sometimes it happens more sometimes it doesnt happen for a bit.

It really sucks when it happens in pvp which is what finally made me reach out to see what is causing it because when it happened consistently in a battleground it absolutely sucked.

Hey @cptscotty , I reported the exact bug you're experiencing when it came into the game with update 40, but I never received a reply regarding it either.

You'll see in the video I posted within that thread that certain skills like haunting curse, ele susceptibility, and many others suffer from the exact same issue you're describing. I would assume it has something to do with your character attempting to "turn" when you cast the ability on a target who is not directly in front of you.

Unfortunately, I do not think there is any workaround or way to avoid this. It seems to be some core issue with the targeting system that they're going to need to resolve, and given that they haven't even acknowledged it as a problem..

Its happening more and more as I level up now. Dying in dungeons because I am animation locked and cant move out of the red circle ground abilities in time.

The only way I can get out of it is by dodging backwards and even then it's not always working. I sometimes can block to get out of it.

The thing that gets me about it though is that it happens while pick pocketing and while backstabbing using the Blade of Woe, which then fails the pickpocketing or the Blade of Woe entirely and puts me in combat with the enemy as if I've done a normal attack. It's ridiculous.

I used to think it was lag but now I know it's not because I have 2.5g fiberoptic and I have no issues in any other games.

It happens very frequently in group content on boss fights in dungeons...more so there than any other place I've had it happen. Last dungeon I ran it happened over 5 times on just the one short fight when spamming Surprise Attack.

Is it because the flanking passives for Nightblade?
