Which is better? Languid Eye or Tide Eye (Arc ult)

I just did the maths for tide kings vs languid and tide kings still does more damage despite the 7% increase every 0.5 seconds on languid
Idk if I worked it out wrong cause I assumed the 7% will always be the 7% of the amount it says it does not the amount it says + increase stacks and with that Tide eye beats languid by 8k

✭In stationary fights the Languid Eye is much stronger and move dynamic fights Tide king is better.1 -
GCJ_✭✭Remember everything is multiplied into each other when calculating each individual tick amount, rather than adding up 7% increases. For example the 2nd tick increase damage value isn't a simple 14% increase of the base, it's (1.07(1.07xbase)) or 1.1449xbase which is a 14.49% increase. Now the extra half of 1% gained this way isnt necessarily something to consider by itself, but that is just the increment at tick 2 which is then added to the previous tick increments. Tick 3 is a 22.5% increase, tick 4 is a 31% increase, etc. The extra percent gains get larger exponentially per tick increment. If you had discrepancies between your calculations and testing this is probably where they are found. Of course there are plenty of other factors when considering which morph as mentioned by others. I have only used Tide King so far, have yet to swap it and rank up Languid, but the enemy tracking and auto-targeting next target should current target die before duration ends was why I went that way first.0 -

thedoodle_90✭✭✭Langquid does more dps than tide king. The 7% is compounding. Its 107% of the previous tick. When solving for a partial geometric series. The total dmg comes to Base dmg*17.8 where Tides king is base dmg*16. Tide Kings base dmg is not enough to make up for the difference.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭The downside to Tide King is also that the tracking is too slow for fast enemies so you’re losing ticks. For slower enemies it works, but if they’re fast (for example in PvP) you lose a lot of ticks. Overall I find both versions to be rather meh.PS5EUAldmeri Dominion- Khajiit Arcanist -1
