Response to Player Concerns

After 30 pages of messages regarding the change to rapids, [snip]

Though many of the posts in the thread requested an official ZOS explanation for the change, there was no such response anywhere in the 30 pages. The only input from moderators was reminders for players to be nice when posting. I fail to see how the thread could have progressed in a positive manner without ZOS responding to the players concerns and suggestions.

they lost 18% of players according to steam charts, despite the event.

    I don't really wonder.

I am under the impression that certain posts are intended to get derailed so that a valid explanation exist to lock them.

"Progressing in a positive manner" would be people saying, 'You know what, losing a skill we've enjoyed for years is actually fun! I'm glad ZOS made this change! I love spending more of my game time trying to get from point A to point B, instead of doing productive things.'

I think I saw maybe one or two posts out of 893 that were along those lines. And I assumed they were sarcasm. But, if not enough posts were positive about a negative change, then the thread was doomed from the beginning, anyway.

I always assume that if no response is given for a hot topic like this, then the answer is likely not something they can put a positive spin on in any way.

It was never about making Vigor easier to get. It was always about making Rapids harder to get and monetizing ways to get it sooner and make you faster in general.

The only way that they could make that positive was to highlight that Vigor would be easier to earn and they already stated that part, hoping we would all just ignore the nerf to Rapids acquisition at the same time. Now that some time has passed and they have effectively swept the discussion under the rug, they just need to wait a bit longer until it's all forgotten.

That's exactly what happened with the redaction of decades of Bosmer and Argonian lore, strictly for PvP "balancing." The uproar dominated the forums for some time, until the discussions were deemed no longer valid, and closed.

Well, breaking forum rules by discussing moderator action isn't going to work out any better.

If the Rapids change is still a current concern, its probably more effective to wait a day or three and start a new thread on the topic.

Once again the so called ESO "community" has managed to impress me with its incredibly reliable determination to destroy every single hope of speaking up with one voice against absolutely horrible changes like not just moving Rapids to a different position in the skill tree, but actually taking it away from the characters that had previously earned it.
Congratulations! The devs aren't even needed, this "community" is busy and very successfully destroying itself.

Instead of speaking up against this completely obvious further monetization of skill lines and one of the most important aspects of the player - game relation, i.e. time needed to get something done, a different skill was mentioned over asnd over again although it had nothing whatsoever to do with the plea of the thread.

OK they are dug in on the decision they made.
But could they at least fix the horrible mount stamina bug that causes your mount stam to instantly drop to zero on the first move? This is on a 60/60/60 mount so even buying mount speed upgrades won't help.
Maybe that will affect crown sales no?

I know, i don't really care about the rapids but i love the frost staff the way it is and don't want change. I think they will mess it up though, the best staff in game :( so sad. I feel like the game is about change for the sake of change for like a year or two now.

The devs don't need unanimous support to revert a change and its not the players who are the enemy here.

We can make another thread. And another. And another, until it's fixed.

Pretty much derailed by one person.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

    Hello everyone,

With this thread opening with discussing moderator actions and derailing with conspiracy theories and threats of spam, we're going to go ahead and close it down. For further posts be sure to stay constructive and respectful with the Forum Rules in mind to avoid action on one's own account.
