Internal error when trying to login with existing account in steam

I have bought ESO from the ESO site a few months ago and have been playing since but I decided to buy the elsweyr (with the base game) from steam because it's better in my country to sub to ESO+. When I try to login with my existing account and it asks if I want to link with steam, the game gives an internal error and says to contact the support. I opened ticket #200331-007046 3 days ago and still waiting for answer.

    Yes, I did. It says: "There was a problem linking your account. Please try again later or contact support."

    Reading through the support questions, one trouble from another question was logging with your steam on website. I tried doing that and it logged into my old eso account that I used for trying the game on steam a long time ago. Even though I unlinked my steam account and doesn't show as linked in the website, it's still login in it.

    Hello! Sorry for bothering you, but I have the same issue and could use some help. :( Mixup with accounts. I unlinked an account I no longer use but now when I want to link my steam to a different account (even though its unlinked) I cant do it :(
