The emote runs but u remain in the chair.

I'm wondering if it's any chair or what

I got stuck in a chair a couple days ago also. It was right next to the Honeyed pie and I clicked it accidentally. Totally stay away from those chairs, cuz they grab you and don't let go.

This happens often. A fix we found was swapping weapons will get our characters to stand.

Certainly, in my experience, there are several chairs and benches to which a character will become "stuck", throughout Tamriel. One is next to the Crafting Writ Notice Board for Equipment in Vulkhel Guard. Some are in outdoor locations such as that one, but most are in indoor locations, such as delves and dungeons. I've reported them via /bug Feedback,. Nonetheless ZOS has, in my experience, evidently deferred correcting the errors until they get A Round Tuit.

However, often I log-out of my characters while they are sitting in a chair, or laying on a bed. Since the introduction of character housing, usually they are in a Homestead, but sometimes in another location. Often I use the emote /sitchair when I want to leave the character in a location where there is no chair in which he can sit.

When I log-out, the character remains seated (or laying on a bed) because I enable the No, Thank You! add-on option to stop the software from switching the character to standing and facing outward on the HUD when I press <ESC> (then select Log Out or Quit).

Subsequently, after I choose the character to play on the Select Character UI, the HUD displays the character standing in the location where I left him. It looks a bit odd for him to be standing on a bed when he was lying on it at the time I logged-out. Thus far, at least, none of my characters have ever been "stuck" to a chair or bed in this context.

The reason I have this habit is that I used to play World of Warcraft. Originally, when a player logged-out they should leave their character in an Inn to rest, although not necessarily laying on a bed. After about 8 hours of play, a character begins to be affected by exhaustion and needs about 4 hours of rest to recover -- regardless of whether the player needs to recover, too. After the player subsequently chooses a character to play, the character will be displayed exactly as they were when the player logged-out.

I'll second that the problem is still there. Happened to me recently when I tried to read a book and sat onto the nearby couch instead. While I was starting to sit, I attempted to abort and read the book. Instead it glitched me where the buttons no longer worked and I wasn't able to get back up. All I could do was lean more one way or the other. Had to reboot to correct.

I have the feeling this is related to many other ESO bugs in that it's also a client-side vs server-side desync, in this case where you are sitting client-side, but the server is registering you as standing.

Bug still exists (Xbox NA).

I was looting a backpack in Cyrodiil - Eastern Elsweyr Gate, fountain West of Siege Merchant icon on map - and accidentally sat instead. The only thing that finally allowed me to stand up was going into the Crown Store and previewing a mount.

They aren't looking too hard. It remains a problem. I wish I could remember how I have gotten unstuck (PS4) in the past. I am in the middle of a delve and I don't want to start over.
