Health, Stam and Magicka bars all very small when after eating food in delve/dungeon

Is this a visual glitch or something more? My buffs seem to be applied, but it's a proper pain because you have no idea if your buffs have ran out other than to continuously open the character menu. I'm on console so have way way to use any add-on which might make life easier. The bars seem to revert back if i log out.
