My character looking comically sad after latest patch

I know I'm the only one with this issue, I've talked to about 30 players and more than half have this happening to them.

I'm certain this only started after I used the style parlour on my main character. I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean and it really is a weird effect

Since the latest DLC every time any of my characters uses the equipment crafting tables their mouth gets permanently turned down at the edges making them look utterly miserable, the only way to fix this is to toggle any personality on and off. This is now happening all the time to all 4 of my alts, even those that never used the style parlour and its getting REALLY irritating, please, please is their anyway to fix this other than using the personalities because I don't really like any of them

I've tried, repairing the game and swapping Equipment/colours/hairstyles etc., only the personalities seem to make the issue go away.

P.S any chance of a mage personality, obsessed with wine and books in the middle of a dungeon would be good

Also, I just tried having a personality active and then using an equipment crafting bench but this does not work, the sad face still appears and only toggling the personality on and of gets rid of it

Looks like she's a Nord and they always look grumpy - too much beer and cold weather.
Close her face in a helmet - problem solved

Same with me! I noticed it when she was crafting. But I also found that NPCs are comically happy, either that or they're on skooma. I'll try and get a screenshot after work.

Also haven't used style parlour or personalities yet.

Yeah my Redguard's been strangely happy since the last patch, maybe he just really appreciates the makeover I gave him? Either that or he accidentally fed on a skooma addict...

Basically I've noticed that if you do an emote such as angry, sad, happy, laugh, threaten etc. your character's expression gets stuck like that, that's what happened in the above screenshot I was messing around with emotes. A personality was not active at the time but I had activated them previously on this character, and this same thing happens on my character whose appearance I didn't change so I don't think it's a style parlor thing. My characters occasionally become happy, sad, or angry too without me doing anything and I don't know what's triggering it. I also get the same expression as the OP after interacting with crafting stations, and activating then deactivating a personality fixes both issues.

Yeah, I've noticed this on two of my characters. I have not appearance-changed anything about them, other than dyeing the armor.

I've also noticed NPCs look scarily happy (the guy in Evermore's bank, the horse training lady in Vulkhel Guard, for example). It's kind of creepy.

I assume these emotions are situation based? Or used to be. I like them, would be interesting if they were less random and more dynamic.

Just got the perfect photo showing the extreme happy face that is pretty damn creepy!

Compare that to my characters normal face above

Yeah I actually really like how much more expressive my characters are at the moment, but it definitely seems to be random. I'd love it if the expressions happened more appropriately, I felt pretty bad giving NPCs bad news with a huge smile on my face or looking miserable while grouped up with guildies for dungeons!

Oh good, so it's not just me. Also, I purchased no personalities from the crown shop. Getting extreme smile upside down (the graphic is only affecting mouth) from using the smithy station mostly, and yes, clicking the dark brotherhood personality on and off seems to clear it.

After:

You guys realize that the personalities come with facial expressions right?

Anyway, there is a bug that is causing emotes (whether you do a /emote, or your character uses like a smithing bench) to make your faces stick. So far, toggling personalities on and off resets to neutral for me.

I had to point out the personality thing though because someone posted an angry face with the furious personality.

Yeah....That's part of the personality.......

@E-Zekiel I use none of the personalities, and still get the angry, sad, overly happy, and

faces randomly.

It shouldn't be random. It should be if you're taking actions. I know for a fact that crafting will change your facial expression. Pretty much anything that makes you do an action or animation that comes with a facial expression will make it get stuck until you toggle on/off a personality.

I don't have any personalities, I bought the Dark Brotherhood DLC, but haven't collected that personality either. And yet my character is grumpy whilst smithing, and maybe other times, but she's hidden by her helmet.
