Don't know why. It just instigates further abuse from the player who was reported, so everyone has to continue to see that garbage for the next 10 or 12 chat entries.
I feel for you tho. Sometimes it does take you off guard and you can't believe that what your seeing/hearing is not a joke (altho last week someone was in Craglorn, farming presumably, and telling really racist jokes to no one in particular). Hard to believe that some people can be such jerks, so I'm not so quick to jump all over you about it.

Wrong. Flat-out wrong. Should he have reported them? Yes. Should he have then proceeded to ignore it after reporting it? Absolutely not. Failure to discuss this type of behavior - and especially to discuss methods of dealing with and combating it - allows it to continue. If you're discouraging people from talking about it, you are part of the problem and you are contributing to the atmosphere that allows misogyny to thrive.Corellon Thromorin wrote: »Corellon Thromorin wrote: »Oh, I really hate when people hurt my feelings on the internet.
I agree with you, evil people that have no consideration for the feelings of others must be tortured expelled from the internet.
Sarcasm? Serious?
Anyway, why does it always have to go there? 'This person is expressing their dislike of something, well then they must have "hurt feelings" or is an 'anti-'whatever. Seems to be a common idiom used to discount real issues...
They're not necessarily evil either, but their actions certainly do lend credence to the type of character that they possess.
The point is that instead of reporting the players, OP came here to create pointless drama to flood the forum with a useless thread about something that won't be changed because that's the way things are.
Should have reported and ignored them, that is what should be done. Period.

Ignoring the problem is not a solution.
