Sign me up for a Steam code too.. I'd much rather have it listed as an official game in my collection, BUT... no in all honestly you can get a lot of the major benefits by adding it as a non-Steam game for now people, have patience and maybe we'll all get Steam codes eventually.

Steam trading cards.
The OP pretty much summed it up. I have purchased a second imperial edition on Steam just so I could have the Steam edition. I downloaded the game, installed it, and have logged into my account successfully using the Steam client. The only thing I can't do is apply the activation code for my Steam Imperial edition to my current account. I even have a support ticket where I am told that I can't merge accounts, but that is not even what I am trying to do. All I am trying to do is apply an activation key which I purchased from Steam to my current account. You what to tell me you can't remove my old activation key to add a new one? Who designs your software? Someone has to be able to edit account information. It's a program that your company writes and I'm sure ZoS can figure out how to replace activation keys on current accounts. Seriously, stop feeding us this copy and paste crap and give us what we've paid for.
Why must you replace your keys in your account if you were able to install and play just fine using steam and your current account? What purpose would that serve exactly? I'm not understanding exactly what you are not getting because you cant swap your current "new" activation key that was received and used on your first "primary" account?
Most every game I've ever played that uses CD keys and auth systems uses the key to tie in to your account and they become as one, like samurai. Since you know and accept that you can't merge your account, and dont want that, you just want to 'replace' as you say, what for exactly? You said steam lets you log in just fine with the user/pass primary account, since its still the steam version of the game don't all the steam features work?
Why is it any of your business? I've already submitted a refund request to Steam for a useless activation key. And I never said I didn't want my accounts merged, I said that's not what I'm trying to do. There's a difference. Learn it before putting words in someone's mouth.

It isn't useless. It works perfectly fine for what is intended for; a copy of the game on Steam.
Your attempted use of it might have it not work as *you* intended, but it has no bearing on whether or not the key is working as it is supposed to.
Cancel your non-steam game account.
Install the steam version and use the activation key.
If it doesn't work then, *then* you might have a case for a useless activation key.
If you don't want random people to reply to a post on a discussion forum, you might want to consider not posting about whatever you don't want people to reply to. Otherwise its pretty much open season on replies.
Greetings folks,
First of all thank you for your feedback! We have been receiving a lot of feedback regarding our recent Steam launch, and please be sure that it's being passed along. And while we can't promise anything at this point, rest assure that we will definitely take your opinions into consideration.
Thank you!
NB: this thread has been moved to the general discussion sub-forum as it was a better fit for that category.

Yeah, hopefully they're not just hoping this will all blow over. I know there's a petition on Change.org but it still need like 200 people! Has anybody heard anything official?gtclm67b16_ESO wrote: »First of all thank you for your feedback! Well thanks @ZOS_HugoP for a least giving a few words of response on that topic.
Now can we please expect some official announcement of some sort very soon, please?
THIS, Zenimax, this.Nine days since the announcement of Steam release, and we still don't have anything besides "Thanks for the feedback!"
Carbine would have at least told us WHY they did it so far. Why does Zenimax not take the same approach, to make it's players happy?
Tell us why you made this decision, or fix your mistake. Silence is infuriating.
Gearbox has recently retrofitted the original Borderlands to remove securom - they added the ability to convert retail disks to steam for free in this process and handle DLC sold by other people to be converted to steam. If Gearbox somehow can manage this I don't understand why ZoS/Zenimax can't manage to do something similar. Seriously.I think that the problem isn't ZOS, it's Steam (I don't think ZOS cares if we use Steam or their client to access the game and I don't think they aren't implementing it by choice).
Please make this happen Zenimax.... I don't know if it is already done, but I am wondering this a couple days back and stumble with this discussion. It will be awesome for you guys to make this active as an option, I know this doesn't take much of your time.
