Regarding the Layoffs and the games future...

I see a lot of people are scared and you have full right to be however unlike other layoffs I do feel like this one is more justified especially after what Eso has been through. I've been on the game for 11 years and until recently like not even a year ago i saw eso going downhill. The game had no replayability because the story was so linear, the writing was horrible for the most part, devs kept saying simple things to change were impossible that new devs shown it was possible (such s skill and class reworks), and many more other problematic things. However the uncertainty if its going to go on has me worried too but im looking forward into the future. Again I fully understand the fear. Just stay safe all. Lets hope things get better. What do you all think about it?
I am dark strife. Khajiit since arena... ya know when they were humans... with face paint... still khajiit only all games...

I'd recommend checking out who was laid off name by name, you'd be surprised how vital for the game's health some of those are and what contributions they've made. Not everyone, surely, some people were closer to the camp of "that's why new stories are getting worse" but that's far from majority of the list we have, just a mere drop in a huge bucket. It would be more positive if was actually about getting story back on track, but it's a business decision of a parent company here - has nothing to do with actually improving the game or even caring about it's future. Just money.

You have no idea what you're talking about, that's for sure. But that's besides the point, you also missing Mike for Brian Wheeler I'd assume, who's still on the team.

Uhh… you may want to check your facts.

Gina was the face of the game since it started. She was not a developer, but having a face to make announcements is a big thing. After the recent restructuring, Gina was promoted to Creator Manager, and she was coordinating the entire Stream Team and Creator program, which essentially was a major part of ESO’s marketing wing.

Also you’re mixing up Finn with someone else. Finn’s probably the most loved of the developers because the dungeons and trials were always top-notch. He used cheats when he streamed them because he was only showing off the art, and specifically avoiding spoilers for the fights. But he actually plays at a high level - the Stream Team used to run vet HM trials with the devs (Finn tanked), and they cleared easily and with half of the team inebriated. He is a capable player.

You’re probably thinking of Brian Wheeler, who is the Combat and PvP lead. He did that one stream for the new BGs, if thats what you’re thinking of. That stream really set a lot of PvPers off since they saw he didn’t not have a high skill level in PvP. But he is one of the devs that did not get cut.

Guilty as charged, I couldn't believe it.

Not even just not having high skill, but not understanding core concepts of the game you're paid to work on.

edit: And Im not bashing or calling for anyone to lose their job here, it is just an observation made from that stream.
