Do you like the Daily Login/Endeavor changes? A poll

I figured it would be good for the forums to have its own poll about these changes here. So do you like that they are consolidating the daily rewards into Tamriel Tomes soon? Or would you prefer the old system?

If you're curious how Reddit felt about these changes check out Rhythmsuji's thread here as their thread came first.

yes i like that Daily Endeavours and Daily Login Rewards are going away.

Though i do log in nearly every day, it is nice to not feel like i must log in every day for the Endeavours and Login Rewards.

Tamriel Tomes seems like a good addition. And Golden Pursuits have been good.

    Meh. Whatever.

I liked the Endeavor system since it gave me a few little goals every day, which was helpful since - let's face it, the main gameplay loop was extremely tired (no new Classes to level; balance was an absolute catastrophe; stories were bland, poorly written, and painfully cringey; the general feeling like the dev team didn't care about me as a veteran player at all). Without Endeavors, well I don't really have much reason to log in.

But at least the team does look like it's starting to try to turn the boat around, so maybe things will get better.

The new Tomes system makes me apprehensive, but we'll see how it goes. I am absolutely predicting this "we're giving 8k Seals in the free version!" isn't gonna last because this game has gone and removed pretty well every monetization except cosmetics, so I'm definitely expecting that to get very aggressive to make up for lost revenue (and we'll likely get a lot less new stuff due to reduced budgets).

But I'm a simple guy. Give me a new Class, and I'll pay whatever you want and be completely distracted for a few months, and probably over a year if it's an Artificer.

I'm somewhere between "I like it" and indifferent. The daily rewards were not what motivated me to play the game or log in daily. Sometimes they were nice, other times they were just inventory junk. I am hoping the new system is healthier and more fair with rewards than the old one was. It may help that I played pre-2018 before daily rewards were added. I do enjoy my daily crafting dailies but that's because it's kinda my quiet time/sleep aid. It is nice that they are gone though because life happens and last year my internet was out for a full week and that was just a "feels bad" moment with the old system. With the new one that feels less frustrating.

I'd rather you kept this one going. The options are more suitably neutral. I'd rather the poll options not have descriptors to reinforce a narrative.

I don’t know yet, I will have to see the new system.

I did like Endeavors as it sort of drove what activities I might do that day, sometimes revisiting things I hadn’t done recently. I often got Seals for things I was going to do anyway. I feel like Golden Pursuits require much more effort for the reward sometimes, and wonder if the new system will be even more grindy.

Daily rewards were fine, I used most of them but I never felt that we should be rewarded for just logging in.

I agree with DenverRalphy. I like this poll better because I can always post a message to explain my reasoning. I didn't really agree with any of the options in the other poll.

That said I will miss daily login rewards and the endeavors.

I liked the simplicity of the old systems. I never felt obliged to login daily because I wanted to do that. I also never felt I had to complete the endeavors every day / week. I often missed out things like dungeons, trials and world boss endeavors. Maybe I am lucky because I wasn't bothered by missing stuff.

I saw a sample of the new Tome system on PTS. I didn't like it and I am not pleased that free systems are being replaced by something that you have to pay for to get the most out of it.

I think if people experience a fear of missing out then the new Tomes will do them no favours. On the one hand they are saying you don't have to login every day but then the seasons are time limited. You will have to pay to keep the tomes if you want to finish them after the season ends. People that hate to leave things unfinished, can't login for whatever reason, or don't have enough time to get the rewards they really want may end up paying so they don't miss out.

If they had been given the same option to pay money to keep daily rewards and endeavors to complete whenever the player wanted, would this have been as warmly received? I don't really know.

The daily login rewards were not rewarding. The only thing I was looking for was the Crown Tri Pots. Then they stopped.
Everything else was just easily sourced elsewhere. Or useless stuff, like the endless amounts of pets.

There were highlights, though. The free DLCs were real rewards. So we're the free crown Crates. But these were so few.

It was time to move on.

At first I was disappointed to see them go, but now I'm back to doing whatever I feel like doing in the game, like I used to do before they were introduced.

My weekly endeavor: take pictures of luxury furniture. Doesn't give any seals, but sometimes people gift me crates or other shinies.
My daily endeavor: crafting dailies. Doesn't give any seals, but enough currency to pay for rent and clothes buy furniture, styles and sometimes other shinies.
Enough to keep me from abandoning game for a long time.

New weekly-or-even-more-rare task system is great, only thing I don't like about it - that you have to claim reward manually and at least on PTS is didn't have any marker of ready one (hope this was/will be fixed). Now I will be able to do it when I want and not watch on clocks, because daily reset was not in very convinient time for me.

Too early to tell. I was fine with the old system but I understand what the devs are trying to accomplish with the incoming system and that should be fine as well. Implementation is the key though so I look forward to seeing how the new system works. It sounds rather complex but hopefully that will clarify once it goes live.

I agree it's too early to tell. They only removed these systems because the new one made them redundant so we need to see how the new one works first.

Celebrating a lack of FOMO now is like getting to your new house and talking about how much space there is before you've moved in the furniture. It might work out better, it might be worse, or the same, but what we know for sure is the current situation is transitional and not the 'new normal'.

I think I've mentioned this a few times, but I'm happy that Daily Rewards are gone. Aside from a handful of times, most of the rewards were pretty forgettable. And those that weren't, are better delivered through Golden Pursuits and Events. One less thing to click through in the game.

Daily Endeavors, I'm a bit more mixed on. As a daily habit, it was great. It jump started my play sessions and got me back into the game on a few occasions. That was all great. As an actual reward system, it was quite lacking. The whole Seals system really was.

It never felt like I was earning enough seals to get multiple things. It felt like I had to ration my seals and hope I have enough for the rewards that are available for a short time. This is the biggest area of FOMO that needs to be improved. Way more than the pressure felt from the Daily Rewards and Endeavors themselves.

So really, I'm looking at things from two angles - how does it feel as a habitual system and how rewarding is it. When the new systems land, that's how I'll be evaluating it. I don't see them making Apex-quality rewards more easily attainable. I don't. Hopefully it's a fun enough system that I'll want to login and do whatever activities it gives me.

I stopped bothering with daily endeavors and daily logins a while back. Only really did daily login rewards when we had unique rewards like cosmetics and crates, and endeavors after it came out and the endeavor rewards were higher.

Not sure it makes sense to vote until I've actually seen and participated in the first tome.

But so far I like the change and the rewards being folded into the golden pursuit this month. It felt odd for a day or two, but I really like not having daily chores to think about and being able to focus on what *I* want to do in eso (or do something else entirely and not log into eso and not feel like I've missed out).

This is exactly correct. Generous free tracks of the battle pass will be very short lived. The money they're losing from chapters *has* to be made up for. Companies don't just give up money to make things better for customers. People keep exalting this battle pass, be careful what you wish for.

If you like the little tasks though and are bored of the gameplay loop, let's face it many of us are, you'll have plenty of tasks with tomes. They'll all be the same stuff you did with endeavors. Kill X atros. Pick 10 locks. Do 2 random dungeons. Harvest 50 crafting nodes. Reroll. At least we have a huge game world. In fallout 76, when it says something like collect 15 soap, you know if a bathtub under a pylon that has a lot of soap. Unfortunately so does everyone else. So we should have a much easier time. The real concern should be if they will still do in depth, expensive content drops. I really have a hard time seeing them do another wrothgar or Summerset with no returns.

The daily endeavors were always so dumb. "Place 3 furnishings." "Upgrade 2 items." It was mostly just doing pointless little things that didn't matter at all. If they had been things that actually impacted the game world in some meaningful way, I would've been fine with keeping them. Stuff like "Capture a resource in Cyrodiil" or "Sell a furnishing through your trade guild", stuff like that. But those dailies were much rarer than the pointless ones.
