Writhing Wall Event Known Issues

Hi All, this will be a running list of any and all known issues that come up during the Writhing Wall Event.

10/13/2025- Hi all, we wanted to follow up based on some of your pings related to the progress percentage dropping. As much as we would like to blame the Worm Cult for fighting back, the progress percentage change is due to us fixing a bug affecting how progress was being displayed. Keep on fighting the Worm Cult to add more progress!

Reports that some Siege Camps can potentially get stuck and reset.

This has been hotfixed as of Oct. 16. You can view the hotfix note here.

Stirk Wayshrine is not working as intended. You can teleport to the wayshrine, but not from the wayshrine.

We are currently investigating.
In the meantime, we have two workarounds.
- You can use teleport NPCs at the docks.
- You can pay money to use a wayshrine on the map or travel to a friend/guild member.

"Slayer of Death Itself" Achievement is currently not working as intended.

We have identified the issue and working toward a fix.

Ghishzor appearing in phase one rather than phase 2

Ghishzor is now gone for phase 1. You will see him again in phase 2 after U48 releases.

Are Vitrified Souls drop rate working as intended?

On Oct. 16, we hotfixed this issue. Vitrified Souls will now also drop from Dark Anchors and more Daedric monsters, in addition to the Daedra that were already dropping Vitrified Souls. You can find a full list in this thread.

Golden Coffers awarded per day should be three, instead of four.

We have corrected this error in the article.

Fellowship of Stirk motif and style items are not dropping as intended.

This has been hotfixed and items should be dropping as intended.

Currently, non-event Undaunted delve daily quests or quests specifically associated with a delve cannot be completed if the delve has been taken over by the Worm Cult.

This is working as intended and those delves will return to normal when the event is over. Those daily quests and delve quests can be completed then.

Wormwrithe Weapon Outfit pages not dropping and players are not finding any on guild traders.

We've confirmed that these are Phase 2 item drops and you will not see them until then. We have updated the event article to correct that info.

Players on PS4 and Xbox One are not seeing many mobs on screen at the Vitrified Souls quest spots, compared to players on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

This is something that you may encounter if you are running ESO on older systems including PS4, Xbox One, and lower-end PCs. The system/game are trying to load a high volume of player characters in a concentrated area, and that is resulting in slower load-in time on older systems for both player characters and monsters. Players could try using AoE abilities just to tag mobs and heal in the area to get credit, and turn on auto-loot. We recommend visiting Dark Anchors as an alternative and potentially better option for those on older systems.

Players may experience some inconsistent behavior with the frequency in which quest items drop from eligible monsters.

We identified a technical bug on Oct. 21 that results in some inconsistencies with quest item drops from eligible monsters. While we are working on a fix, it will require more time and testing to fix than we can accomplish during this event.

The Antiquities Lead for the Moonstone Ring Bearing is not dropping from invading event bosses while in Jode's Light.

This is confirmed as a bug, and will be fixed with the launch of Update 48 on Oct. 27 for PC and Nov. 12 for consoles. Once the fix goes live, the event bosses in Jode's Light will drop this Antiquities Lead.

Some Archers have learned to fly and are floating at the wall camps. This is not intended.

We are actively investigating this to figure out how to bring them down.

In German, Phase two for the Writhing Wall has an error in the title.

The fix has been identified and will be updated in an upcoming incremental.

Hi everyone. We are creating a new post in this thread for issues specific to Phase 3 of the Writhing Wall event and/or after the Update 48 launch.

Some characters are unable to collect Skyshards in Eastern Solstice
Characters who collected all the Skyshards in Western Solstice before Update 48 launched are currently unable to collect Skyshards in the Eastern Solstice zone. The temporary workaround is to log in and claim the Eastern Solstice Skyshards on other characters on your account. We are working on a fix for characters that are currently in a bad state where they cannot collect Eastern Solstice Skyshards. This fix will go out during an upcoming maintenance.

The Zysax encounter, in the Writhing Fortress, can sometimes become bugged
The Zysax encounter – the final boss in the Writhing Fortress – can sometimes become bugged and not completable. This can also sometimes appear as the quest not correctly updating, and/or things in the final room not being interactable. We are investigating a fix for this issue. In the meantime, the temporary workaround is for all characters who were engaged in the final boss fight to die and reset the encounter, or leave the instance and try getting into a new one.

Skordo sometimes does not appear when you go to hand in the “Support the Fellowship” quest at the siege camp in Solstice, despite his quest pin appearing on the map.
Skordo is sometimes not spawning in an area where players can interact with him, at the end of the “Support the Fellowship” quest. We are currently investigating this issue. The temporary workaround for players is to drop “The Worm Turns” quest.
